Uh... Don't want to sound like an ass here (like I haven't already) but, Conor, you got less than 20 posts around here and you're arguing this forum's normally accepted guidelines on etiquette and decorum with someone that has over 800 posts.

Call me crazy, but I think he knows how things work around here better than you do.

I don't think you have noticed, but this is something called the internet. There are stupid people on it.That is the end of story, and I cant see why people don't understand that, and have to try to kickstart the shit slinging machine that has been clogged since Clown went off in the hall of judges.

The thing about being part of a team is that you cannot just say whatever you feel like saying. If you think someone is stupid, you can't just say that publicly. If you want to say that to them privately, go for it, that's your call. But saying it in the public thread almost guarantees that team morale takes a dive. It's exactly like getting along with coworkers.

That also means you can't post stupid little inflammatory pictures for your own amusement. It means you cannot pile on when people are flaming someone else. That just destroys morale even more.

Beat me to it...

OK, guys, let's start all this over then. The recruitment aspect is over; now the real game begins.

Let's stop bickering and squabbling over what apparently occured in the past and focus on this point onward. Consider this a reboot.

Let's try to be civilized and play along with this game. Forget about the past, forget about the blurry IG/OOG line. We are, after all, a team with a common goal. If we start arguing amongst ourselves chaos will ensue; this exact thing almost destroyed 48 Hours in Purgatory. Let's stop flaming each other and focus.

I'm saying this for a reason. I may not be an admin here, but humor me.

Esteed, in most large groups, there is a amount of morale, yes, but over the internet, morale, and the groups condition, don't effect them as much. as long as a main member does not lose hope too completely, any group can rebound from any loss, if given sufficient time. The smaller the group over the internet, the greater morale effect, which is my experience in MMOs, playing MilSim airsoft, and a ARG or two here or there.

I would like nothing more than for everyone to pull out some water to extinguish the flames before a war starts.

Conor, if everyone is flaming left and right, it's going to destroy enough morale that we'll lose the team. People won't want to participate anymore because not only are the tasks mentally frustrating, they will have to deal with all the flaming. Maybe not right away, but everyone has a breaking point where they just can't take any more and if people can't handle disputes in private, those breaking points are going to be hit pretty quick.

I'm not saying we have to have some snugglefest. I could care less if we all hate each other. I'm just saying we need to find ways to put up with each other so that we can stand a chance of being successful in this game. This will require everyone to adapt and perhaps sometimes even censor themselves. If that's what must be done for the good of the team, so be it. If people can't do that, then I can guarantee you that no one will want to continue willingly putting themselves through that stress just to play a game, especially when there are plenty of other games they can play instead.

Disclaimer:This is my own personal opinion:
I think this is part of the study. Part of what IS supposed to happen. Give people a scenario (save girl) and watch what happens. See who takes the leadership role, see who follows along. There will be conflict, there will be rebels that don't want to do as others, there will be sheep that blindlessly follow. A psych study has started, and people are unknowingly filling their particular roles. Each persons reaction or non-reaction is part of the study. The only problem is, I don't think the study can be completed on this forum, and that is probably why we were given the forum at HurtstoHeal. However, it does not give anyone "Troll rights" here. This forum is still about the game. I would like to see an official thread started when the game officially starts, May 1? Maybe someone could do a summary of all of the links and be ready to start a new thread soon?

We already are all trying to get along Esteed,Some people can't control themselves. And with the roles coffee, I think everyone has found a niche, basically.I don't know what I am, but Esteed is regarded as a authority figure, because he is well known?Whatever the case, your all right, we are in this together, and we will only win by teamwork.we have a team, we have done everything possible, and weighed our chances. Were doing good, lets just not cause friction, like Esteed said.

IMHO, it is clear that we need to do better. There is absolutely no coordination. I admit that I was in the forefront of trying to find the girl, but there was never a plan for what we were going to do if we found her.

Going OOG, if we find and warn the actress, do we win? Is simply locating her enough to win and we let the "experiment" continue? Do we go full bore and try to break the ARG as if it were real-life? I, for one, have been using the info we got to try to tweek Doc with idle threats as I think a lot of us have, but I think some people want to prove they're smarter than the Doc in ways that go too far for an ARG.

In game, there were those insisting that we should not try to locate the girl - that it was hopeless. When it was clear that some had very good plans for getting recruits (I love the youtube), why not organize into recruiters and searchers (obviously a person may do a little of both) instead of having an either/or attitude?

No one says to have a group hug, but we need to pick a goal and focus on it. Are we going to try to save the girl no matter what (if so, we lost the first round unless we find her soon)? Are we going to try to match wits with Doc (if so, we won the first round)? Either way, we need to organize or are we going to try to cock-fight with the other players?
