New password area

Apparently too many people were going to metadex.net, revealing:
http://www.metadex.net/usr/classes/

Dunno if its part of the game or not

That's an interetsting find. It follows the regular scheme, of the usr directory, making me think it's in game. But it has a password, hmm.

How did you find it? Did it just send you there one time? Did you get an error before it popped up?

That is a bit strange. Normally I would not think for agame that they would throw up a password like that.

Wait, is there a possibility how people were discussing Laika to be a connection? Could try that for a password but I don't know of a user name to go with it.

Seems funny that they would throw in a .htaccess password kinda thing when all along they have been using more 'friendly' password prompts.

From memory:
it gave me a PHP error "too many users connected to the database" then listed the path (something, something) /httpd/site2/html/usr/classes

i kinda doubt that it is part of the game because it was a one time thing...but then again, why else would they password protect it?

Perhaps it is their way of saying that we're too early?

It might be their own administration panel to modify the game.. I think we should leave it alone for now..

If so, it doesn't make sence to put it in the usr directory, with all the other users. Smile

I say try to break in with what we know.. ie, the usual "good guess" username/password attempts. Brute forcing is an obvious no-go.. but "good guess" practices have already been demonstrated to be very important to moving on in this "game."

Marcus Ormond and Metadex

I think that Ormond's password to Dex could be found in this book.

If you look at his bio at Metadex you will see this in the bottem.
"We can't allow science to undo its own good work."

that is from the book "Brave New World" chapter 16.

It is just a guess and i have been trying some of the word whitout any luck yet.

All quotes from Brave New World until now are from Mustapha Mond.
