[RING][ARTIFACT] Ch. 2 (@Austin, Texas, USA) Since we are going to have 27 of these things, it's probably better to track the translation, discussion and spec separately, rather than in the previous
thread .
Unfortunately, it means that lindoriel379 won't be able to make any more edits to the translation, unless he reposts his current version here.

Finally, we understood our mission here thusly: To initiate your world in the lost tradition of the labyrinth and synchronous athletics, and to restore the network of labyrinth omphaloi. If we are successful, not only will we save many worlds, but we also will have means to return home.
This seems to indicate that their world is not our world and that there are other inhabitable worlds besides ours and theirs.

We leave behind here this codex because we ascertained, that maybe we weren't the first six sent to this world, and maybe we were not the last.
So while they originally lost their memory, they eventually regained it as well as determining not only their purpose, but their non-Earth origin.

We made 7 copies of this text and intend to return home (kun po n=kunporti=taking along?) one text after having left one there you, (disigita= spread?) across the globe in order to assure that it will be found and understood only by similar travelers. An accident start and activation could be extremely dangerous for your world, and therefore we nearly tried to prevent entirely that somebody have the knowledge within this except that they were sent in a mission to reclaim it.
The mission that the current 6 are now on.

We indicated each chapter of the copy of the codex by a sign of (rehavigo=reclaiming?), so if communication is restricted across the world, we will be able to follow your progress. We believe that with the help of this codex, you will be able to finish your mission in 5 years.
So technically, everytime we find an artifact, They are aware of it as they monitor the omphaputer, as I believe that is the tool that they left to help lead people to the artifacts and reclaim the codex, as well as to be used by them for tracking the progress.

Which seems to be the answer to the question I posted back in the Secret Site thread - based on the poke by MeiHui - who put up the website? Who/what is communicating/reacting to what we do on the secret site?

There are more polished translations (editable too!) of the two currently found artifacts here:

Are people including the scratched through lines in the translations?
On the map page, third paragraph the scratched out line says "ni komprenis nian mision ce tiel Inci Inciciati vian mondon en la perditiajn"
In the page with the tattoos, third paragraph, the obscured little part says "kai intences reveni" or is that a "kaj"?
I was also pretty agitated by the erased pencil writing and the scribbled over signatures, which you can see in the scans here http://164.109.150.213/PRUVO/JR01/SPL7/AG2I/JR28/1FB7.PDF
and I'm wondering if there will turn out to be something find in the smudges.

I am intrigued by this line:
Quote:
In the end, we learned to navigate using the code and used it to travel to the archeological site at Ancient Olympia.
So did they ALL have the "myein" 595 -----E 20 tattoo?
If so, how did they navigate to Ancient Olympia? Are we supposed to trace their path?

This artifact doesn't appear as RECOVERED yet on the Omphaputer. I thought this would unlock other artifacts, maybe Lunglei or Boise. Maybe they're wainting for tuesday, as it was supposed to be recovered... But if the PMs were they're waiting for tuesday they shouldn't have left the Dongying/Shangai instructions on the Omphaputer.

Hmm. You think they left the omphaputer in its current state? This would seem to indicate Jorge, Jules, etc. would have had access to some pretty advanced technology for the time they were here. I mean, if they're from another world (or worlds) it's fine and good to say they could be from an advanced civilization, but building that site before they went "home" would require them to do some pretty serious MacGyver work if limited to stuff present on Earth at the time (especially if the contraption built was to be left running and unseen and undisturbed all this time). Perhaps, instead, after "communication [was] restored across the worlds" (using the translation on the wiki, rather than the one here, which says "restricted" rather than "restored"), the former amnesiacs on their various worlds were able to set up the omphaputer and get it working on our Internet? They didn't set it up before they left, but knew they would set it up from their own world(s), so they left the confirmation codes anticipating that we would indeed be able to use them and the omphaputer one day.

Can the title of this post be changed? Something to indicate that it is the Second Artifact for Omphalos #1 (Stephenville)?
We still don't have Omphalos #2's location yet.

Right, but the actual document itself identifies it as Ch. 2. So if we number the 27 artifacts the same as their chapter and location found, wouldn't that be easier than trying to track from which Omph they were found? I dunno..

No, that's good enough. And my comment above will make it so the information is searchable now.

So - threads by omphalos or threads by artifact? I assume we will have many more omphalos locations compared to the 27 chapters.
Can I suggest a main omphalos location thread - perhaps the Eli Hunt/Secret Site thread where the hunt for green and red dots and omphalos methodology can continue - and then separate threads for each artifact found?
So perhaps Weezel could rename his original post 'Austin TX - Artifact Chapter 2' or something like that

I don't think that's significant -- it's just the first line of the following paragraph.
Quote:

Again, it's just three words that came earlier on the same line ("kaj intencas reveni"). It means "and intend to come back", but I don't think it's relevant really.

Can't make out anything meaningful from the smudges I've seen, but if you can post some words or partial words, I'll have a go.

The pencil writing doesn't look like Esperanto. It looks like names. Maybe people or places.
I am suspicious of the things that make the document look old, or that look like it was the typist was getting off track copying the lines from another document- maybe because they had to type up multiple copies and made errors as they typed. Or that make it look like a fairly messed up typewriter. Probably those things are in the document just for atmosphere, but

Here's a funny thing. In the drawing of the two hands, one is a left hand is one is a right hand. Although the greek word and the labyrinth is in the same direction, the numbers/trident are mirroring each other.
