Jason is not dead I watched the bridge scene in slow-motion, and you can clearly see that Jason jumps out of the path of the tail, and lands on the bridge.
I am 100% certain he is not dead.

lets say jason can jump pretty far, and he jumps 5 feet.
the entire bridge goes down.

That could possibly be someone else. In an interview somewhere on the DVD the actor who plays Jason said he hoped that Jason had grabbed onto an "I-Beam or something" and survived. I would doubt he did anything stunt wise after standing on the lightpost.

Everyone else was ground-level. I am sure it was him.

yeah, but not instantly. Everyone else ran off after the tail hit. He could have too.
I am 100% certain that the tail did not smash him. Whether or not he survives for a sequel is up to the writers. But he definitely jumped out of the path of the tail.

they didn't show it for a reason.
so they have the choice to bring him back. there is NO confirmation that Jason is alive or the actor would probably know that (he says in all of his interviews that he "hopes" Jason lives)
and if you watched the extras, they showed a series of stunt members "jumping" (more like flying) from the tail's impact. it could be anyone. not only Jason.
get some more proof and evidence before coming here and posting that you are 100% certain. puhlease.

The part I see him jump is before the impact, as the tail is coming down.
I posted this because many people were saying that Jason was definetely dead from the tail's impact.
I will try to get pics this weekend.

Uh, those 3 pics I posted are the 3 frames right as you see the tail come down on Jason. On a Mac with it's higher native contrast and brighter gamma it's easier to see - but you can go ahead and snag the images and adjust that yourself with an image editor. He's a bit blurry, but he's the brownish thing right near the end of the bright streak of reflection on the fluke of the tail. Adjusted for contrast and gamma (levels) you should easily be able to make out the pole and Jason in the first 2 frames, then the fluke comes down full and he goes poof. He never lets go of the light pole.
Gone.
Smoosh.
Dead.
