Jack-in-the-Box Super Bowl ad
Jack was injured! Follow his progress

I never remember whether the Jack-in-the-Box chain of fast food restaurants is national or regional, so forgive me if you didn't see this commercial (or have no idea what a man in a clown ball head has to do with hamburgers).

Jack got hit by a bus! And then they flashed the URL on the screen http://www.hangintherejack.com/ where a blog is giving us status updates during his recovery. Send get-well cards to him by mail! Get text alerts to your mobile phone! It's a Web 2.0 mixed-media campaign, complete with "viral" cell-phone video "Found on YouTube".

I'd be all cynical and stuff, but it's JACK! (Oh, and we tried going to the site immediately when the commercial aired, but their server was swamped and overloaded. We didn't get site site to load for at least 5 minutes.)

Commercial on YouTube has been removed due to "copyright violations". Sigh.

Wow, that's just ridiculous. Good job Jack-in-the-Box, you just turned something mildly amusing into something worth ignoring on principle. Raspberry

Free Tacos
Tuesday February 24 only

whether in honor of Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras or just because, you can print a coupon for free tacos at Jack-in-the-Box for today only
http://coupon.hangintherejack.com/two-tacos.php?referrer=TACOS

plus, they've been adding more video clip entries to the main site http://www.hangintherejack.com/ -- i watched the "webcam" and saw Jack's thumb move! Plus the x-ray of Jack's round head is rather funny (note the bent nose from not fitting into the MRI machine).
