and on twitter:

There's an operation out here, as mentioned in my 'cast. This will take me away from my comfort zone and contacts.

'cast - podcast? or is it referring to the audio file from ages ago?

Yeah, that's the one I meant. It could mean that operation, but I don't know.. cast implies broadcast, not hidden behind a series of codes! I can't find anything else though...
Any thoughts?

It's hot! Dust, guns, and boots. What is going on out here? It's hard to keep up with developments, am I chasing my own tail?

Marie-Ange has posted on the forums asking the Fan if he wants her to put up the stickers and take photos of them.

So I PMd her and asked her what her profession was, and she replied with one word "photographer". Don't know how much that helps but she answers PM's if you have anything useful to ask her. The Fan's twitter posts meanings are eluding me a bit right now so this is my only lead.

Just got an email from Marie-Ange (I emailed her last night, as she seemed very confused), not sure if she's IG or not. She described the letter she got:
Quote:
It come in an A5 white envelope. Was posted in Greenford. My name and address were written in red. Inside : a few stickers of two kinds.
One kind saying "Stop the "Golden Rule", Follow the dream, They must never be allowed to take over..."
The other one saying : "Follow... Violette's Dream, Stop the nightmare!"
And a pink post it with this quote handwritten : "You know what to do! Be creative"

There's a little more but I'm hesitant to put it up if she's not IG... is there any way to find out short of asking her outright?

I think just looking at the circumstances that she is IG. Would the Fan really mail a package to a random photographer OOG and just expect her to join the game and figure things out? Also i think an OOG person would have been a bit more vocal and confused she sounds a tad scripted.

Potentially interesting factoid:

Quote:
Thank you for the interest in our company.

I am a bit confused as to the reference to "RRP". We do not have a department
called RRP, neither do we have an office in Zurich. Surer Risk has assessors
in most countries, but we do not operate in Switzerland at the moment.

[...]

Davinia Peirce
Secretary

Which would suggest that either Ms Peirce is ill-informed, or that the RRP operation mentioned in the ATM documents is secret (illegal?)...

There is a new blog post over at replay studios

Quote:
Could it be true?

Still working to get permission to post photos of Violette's possessions.

Meanwhile, there's the theory of Violette's last cache. This gets lots of people very excited. The idea is that before she disappeared she buried something in France, probably around Normandy where we believe she was operating. Nobody knows what was in it, but people say gold, or important papers, or blueprints. And there's also speculation that the uncrackable last message points the way to it.

A lot of people have spent a lot of time looking for Violette's last cache. It's like Rennes-le-Château or Oak Island: there's probably nothing there, it's fun to think about it, and a few people who think about it too much become obsessed, spend years and fortunes trying to crack the secret, and fail.

I'm mentioning it because another group has sprung up to talk about it, headed by a mysterious individual called 'The Fan' who runs a blog and discussion board called Violette's Dream. You can find it here. I'm not sure what their angle is, but they're getting quite excited about it all.

Will Violette's cache feature in Velvet Assassin? That would be telling...

Also and more interestingly a new post form dan corrigan over his blog
Quote:

I work for Surer Risk, a 60-year-old insurance company specialising in mining and mineral extraction. It was set up by the Foreign Office in the 1950s to help British mining interests abroad. Since then it's diversified but it's still basically an insurance company. Insurance. Not international sabotage or weapons sales or genocide or anything. No skeletons here.

I'm a senior operative in the Asset Retrieval department. When a valuable object is stolen or goes missing, the company that's insured it wants to retrieve it, so the claim won't have to be paid or (if the claim has been paid already ) then the object legally belongs to the company and can be sold. This is what I do: I track down missing property. Mining gear, industrial prototypes, unrefined diamonds, that kind of thing. Once in a rare moon it might be a piece of art or jewellery, or a vintage car. And I'm good at it.

I've loved this kind of thing since I was a kid. Dad used to bury stuff on the Heath and draw us big, intricate maps to find them, to make up for the fact he was hardly ever home. The map would arrive in the post with stamps from Hong Kong or Brazil or South Africa, and we'd bunk off school to trace out where this new treasure was. A watch, a Swiss Army knife, a kilo of chocolate, and once a big Scalextric set buried two feet down, wrapped in bin-liners and lashed with tape to protect it from the damp earth. Best days ever.

That's my job: I dig things up. Most of the time metaphorically. Rarely there's actual spades involved. But that's it. It's all legal and above-board. I'm one of the good guys, for heaven's sake, I find stuff and return it to its owners. I do not believe that Violette Summer's final cache exists, I am not trying to find it either for my bosses or for myself, and I think that anyone who goes hunting it is an idiot. Now will you leave me alone.

What do you make of it?

Just got an email from Dan Corrigan (is he responding to anyone else?) after a few days of trying.

He didn't answer any of my questions, but promised to soon. He also mentioned that he thinks his email is being monitored...

Edit: New update on the Fan's blog:

Quote:
Off on a trip, searching for someone who doesn't want to be found. There'll be another 'cast soon. I hope the last one explained all.

Following-the-dream, means piecing together the scraps we find along the way, to make a whole. Certain people are following me, following them, I have to be careful with what I share with. The key to each dispatch is a numeric. What's my your lucky number? Surer is on, ears and eyes anyone?

Do you think we missed another audio file? Or is she referring to the one we know about?

Dear [VR],

Thanks for the emails. I can't talk at the moment, but promise to get some
information to you as soon as I can. Work is a bit hectic, and I believe my
mail is being monitored.

More from me later.

Dan
