Cool!

The image name on the back of the picture I would guess is just from whatever service was used to print it. Then again we did have a character named 'Z' mentioned once or twice...Dunno

We'll have to post this IG and see who recognizes the guy in the image.

Did you have to spend the 30 to get the bag, or do you still have it? The 'communicate in the usual way' bit may mean posting another Announcement in the Times.

I spent the money on the baggage reclaim Very Happy and the leftovers on buying a pint Razz

And yes ill add it to the IG forum havent really checked that whole area out yet. And if it was just the name of the phot why cross part of it out... nah i definitely think we will find the original and it wont be blurred. Have posted to IG forums anyhow.

And since it hadnt been posted, on the IG forums:

Quote:
Thanks to you all for your good wishes. I'm not sure how much I want to be involved now, really. The experience has left me feeling very mixed about the whole thing.

But since I figure any non-disclosure agreement is out of the window now, here’s the thing I was going to say a few weeks back. I bit my tongue back then because I wasn’t sure how much in-company info it’d be safe for me to take public. (Not much, as it turns out.) Now I'm not sure what's relevant.

Anyway, Hayder’s a weird guy. There’s something just a bit... off... about the way he behaves. I can’t put my finger on it. Too slick, too assured. The first thing that set off internal weirdness alarms, he was in Zurich talking to someone in the office with him, but with the inter-office VOIP link open. They’d been to lunch, I think Hayder was a bit drunk, and they were talking about sailing, just chat-stuff, about boats they’d known. And Hayder starts talking about... hang on, I jotted down some rough notes after it had happened. This is what I was going to post, and then didn't.

Hayder: The big boats, real ocean-goers, you’ve never done that?
Other voice: Nothing bigger than fifteen metres. What’s the biggest you've sailed?
Hayder: Hah! Not a sailer, but big... eight hundred tonnes.
OV: What, you crewed an 800-tonner?
Hayder: I was her captain! In the old days. I tell you--
OV: What was she called?
Hayder: Bride of Oye. We were... Wait.

At this point the line went dead, and didn’t come back up for 45 minutes.

I know Hayder used to run a shipping company but there’s nothing in his bio that says he ever captained a boat. I was going to throw that titbit out and then I thought better of it. But on Friday, I spotted something he’d scribbled on a notepad on his desk: “Where Oye now? New name?”

I can’t find anything for Bride of Oye. But whatever it was/is, Hayder was clearly worried about it immediately before he disappeared.

Right, I have to go home and start searching job websites now.

Nothing huge, just hadn't done this yet. I pieced together the frames at the beginning of the youtube video to give us the name and auteur:

New info from pipette on the forum:
http://www.violettesdream.com/smf/index.php?topic=36.msg220#msg220

Which leads here:
http://www.geocities.com/imyensurubayen@rocketmail.com/Help_Find_JOOST_ROORBACK.html

and here:
http://maritimedigest.com/prideofoye.html

Also, SoR says #172 isn't Hayder, but I believe Joost is Hayder if you compare with the trustees video.

ETA - just sent mail to Imyen Surubayen to see if it is Joost in the video.

I would tend to agree with you, has the same face shape although no obvious easy similarities to spot, moles etc

Also SOR says in response to the captains picture:

Quote:
Okay, yeah, that's a young Peter Hayder. Or his younger brother. (I don't know if he has a younger brother.)

I'm trying to get some kind of lead on this whole Interpol story, but I'm not getting anywhere. People at Surer have apparently been told not to talk to anybody about this. If Dan Corrigan is out there, maybe he can dig something up?

And an update from Dan:

http://dancorrigan.wordpress.com/2008/07/30/hayder/

Oh and then Dan responded to SOR on the forum too.

eep ><

oh and just in caseits of any relevance, the khaki green bag i collected from the station with the drop off was actually still in the plastic bag from the shop I assume it was bought from:

Jungle
Covent Garden
7 Earlham Street London
WC2H 9LL
02073795379
WWW.jungleclothing.com

Its just a standard seach portal as opposed to a proper shop website though.

Update on Twitter:

How do you contact someone who doesn't want to be contacted? "Z" this is very urgent, please get in touch!

New blog from Dan:
http://dancorrigan.wordpress.com/2008/07/31/people-in-small-offices-weilding-godly-power/

Near the end is link (hard to see as it's just a period) to this:
http://surerrisk.com/rrp2
which is password protected. I would guess that gets us to the German document he speaks about.

ETA - pipette pointed out that the 'AB' we didn't know what to do with before is 171 in hex. Therefore, Jock was #171.

Oh, btw it looks like I didn't get everything set up for folks to join the wiki and be able to add content. Fixed that now, so you can either apply or simply use the password 'snowwhite' to join.

I was relistening to :

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/files/sneakers.mp3

there are definitely artifacts within that file but cant isolate them at the moment. More interestingly however was the mention of a character I had missed previously. A surer employee called Matthew White.....could this be our snow?

To recap:

An "Asset" was being smuggled out of the former soviet block when he had an encounter with white. A fight broke out and the asset was killed. A cleanup crew was brought in and white was "disappeared"

New tweet/blog
The Fan wrote:
#172 as been notified, and is now in hiding. He confirms links to a Zurich company, with WWII history, and not a Surer dept as suspected.

As for Matthew White, he was related to Snow White (her son?). I'll have to go back and find where, but I believe the Fan told us about that, which is why Snow is after Surer.

Sorry I'm just now posting it, I was away from a computer all day yesterday. Wondering if his grammar is a bit put on.
