sonuvabitch thats right.

why the hell did we enter an email address "to be told"

so do the rankings matter at each chapter or only for the final puzzle?

Exactly!

Now I'm unfashionably late to the party Crying or Very sad

EDIT: I also want to add that guessing the flavor may be only the beginning but confirming the flavor will be the end... or mine at least as I'm allergic to two of the ingredients Shocked hehe

When I submitted the info to open an account, I was told that I would be sent a link to use to log on. I never got it. Checked junk, spam, etc. even went to the att site to see if it got blocked there. Not there. What to do now?

I live in Memphis, and if this is the 'secret' city, and if our vacant pyramid is used for the final competition, and if any plan to come visit, I can provide info on some good places to visit.

hey magic, i used a gmail account. that worked right away for me.

I too tried some of these chips today (grabbed a bag while I was at 7-11 a few hours ago). They taste basically like Cool Ranch Doritos, just a tiny bit more sour. The first half of the bag was decent, but I started hating the flavor towards the end and couldn't finish them.
Not terrible, but no where near the best Doritos ever. I don't see myself buying another bag. But the viral marketing succeeded in getting me to purchase the first one.
Grah, falling for two viral marketing schemes in under 12 months. Damn you JJ Abrams and Frito-Lay! Stop taking my money! Luckily this time it was only 99¢ and not the $11 or whatever it cost me for the ticket to Cloverfield.

I'm not sold on the whole Memphis thing. The "cypher" we used with the triangles on the bag is a bit iffy to begin with, but even if that's true, I'm not sure I buy the "triangle theory". Any set of the points (cities) will form a triangle, and NYC/Tampa/LV are far from forming an equilateral or any other special case of triangle. The proximity of Memphis to the center is the most convincing attribute, but I think that's just a coincidence.
I'm more interested in the dots and arrows on the bag. I could have sworn those had something to do with nutritional info, but seeing as I can't find any info about them in relation to that online, and they vary from bag to bag, I'm most likely wrong. So, logically, they most likely have something to do with the puzzle. I think if we can decode them, it might give us more information.

I wasn't told too...

but it's your fault for getting to the site too late Very Happy

I thought somebody already posted that the pyramide thing with the lights was a countdown-timer?

When i checked that side there were all red lights on and a big green button Wink

the black lights were for the remaining days (if I'm remembering right)

Soo... still that thing didn't work...

but "Let's be angry at those doritos guys" isn't an option either Rolling Eyes

Every time I log in it gives me "login failure" and asked to retry. So I click on the forgot the password link and it sends me a new temp password. I then make a new password and try it out - still fails Sad

Thanks scubasteeve for the info...I'll give it a try.

I was 'told' that this was a tough group, I guess I might need to raise shields, and arm torpedos.

Yeah, I cannot reset my password without using the correct username. Oh well, I was gonna play this but I know I'm not smart enough to win anything.

Yah I gave it my email AGES ago and I wasn't told either. Those vicious teases!
I'm not in it to win either. I want to collaborate with you guys, not compete. Plus it would be SO lacking in dignity to accept a cash award from 'doritos'. That's sort of like making your family fortune on manufacturing toilet bowl cleaner. Not that there's anything to be ashamed of, but who wants to be known as 'The Dorito Champion'. 'The Champion of the Snackers'. 'The Dorito Defender!!' 'The Hamburgler' hee hee
I wanna win a prize from a company that makes Swords or Vaccines or something!!
Now I'm all hungry. I wish I had some doritos.

I submitted my first email back when this thread had only one page. I submitted the second email a week and half ago.

If that wasn't early enough....

So basically someone is getting fired at Doritos for forgetting to "tell" everyone who signed up...

Or

Everyone who signed up will still be told something at some point?

It's probably the former, and I want my time I spent breaking down that stupid wall twice only to get "told" nothing. I might as well spent ten minutes digging a hole with a toothpick in my backyard and put my email address in that.
