I was so close. The competition started today in Vegas. I guess that my secret contractual clause has expired since I was not chosen as a finalist.

I think I'll hide a Quest bag in Boston somewhere. The first person to find it will be able to claim that they were the first, or any other finishing place that they desire.

no, I'm not bitter. I'm just Mountain Dew.

finals

If you're interested in keeping up with Travis Hogg, his wife has a blog. Blessings Abounding.blogspot.com. He came home from Vegas Last night late and there is no other comment on what happened. Seem like a really nice young couple and I kinda hope he wins the Artifact , at least I hope someone who hasn't won a big prize before gets it.

You don't have to wait. The winner was John Wright (retsbob999).

vegas Cryptex(R)

here are images of the Cryptex(R) shown in the trailer on the triangle site designed by Justin Nevins.

Wouldn't you like one of these?

I just wonder if the artist would consider doing a custom batch for a limited time.

If you want one email him from his web site. I'm sure he would let us know if that's something he would consider.http://www.cryptex.org/r_home.htm

Final Challenge

The highlight reel didn't really show the full extent of the final challenge. The final challenge involved us running about 300ft. between each of 6 waypoints over rocky desert terrain. At each waypoint there was a scroll with a couple capital letters that had to be written down and also a word written in the Quest Alphabet. After writing down the capital letters and translating the word, we had to run to the next waypoint. After arriving at the final waypoint, figuring out the answer from the clues was very difficult and took about 5 minutes before had I solved it. Just thought that I ought to clear up what happened in that challenge since they didn't really explain it.

Gah! Stupid Doritos people. They made it look like I could do it, and I'm a 13 year old overweight, out of shape couch potato that barely ever sees the light of day.

pffft!!!

the only way I could even attempt to participate in something like that is if my kid was on the other side of the challenge with his hair on fire!
