Seriously, I suggest you guys to get a PS3 as your BD player
(as mentioned, its one of the cheapest BD players out there, plus you get web browsing, media server access [i stream all my DLed DVDrips and music wirelessly to my PS3], and a gaming console all in one)

im not a fanboy, but since Blu-ray "won" and 7 out of 8 major movie companies are on Bluray (or switching to), not only will you get some of the best game content but you can now get the best movies in full HD

I just bought a 42" 1080p LCD to complement my PS3 (a b-day gift from my g/f)
... im going to be in heaven...

also, i rent all my blu-ray movies from Netflix, but i think this will be the first movie I buy

I really want to watch MGP in his 100% HD Glory!
and that trueHD-5.1 surround sound is appealing (i can only imagine him roaring and my windows shatter)

: D

Double dipping again. Tisk tisk. I will be highly impressed when a movie comes out WITH ALL FEATURES ON EVERY COPY!

Fuck sakes.

Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.95.

$40? Kind of glad I held off on getting it now. I've yet to spend over $25 on a BD. Guess Paramount is going to need a few extra dollars from everyone to help lick their HD-DVD wounds. Dunno

That will never happen consistently. There will always be people willing to pay more or people who want to pay less, and store chains keep paying for some sort of exclusivity.

It's not double dipping, just bad timing, since NO Paramound movies have had Blu-ray releases.

BTW, you can't even do picture-in-picture on a standard DVD...

$40 is the suggested retail, but it will sell for much less. The Suggested retail on the standard DVD is $29 accoring to Amazon, and I bought mine for $14.99...

I know it's the suggested price, and it will be available some places for less. However, that doesn't mean there aren't places that will sell it at $40.

Yeah, but i don't trust sony as far as playing blu-ray on a ps3. I remember going through more than one ps2 because i apparently played dvd's on mine way too much.
