[Markus] New photo on flickr

Markus posted a new photo on Flickr.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/markusmystery/2492689359/sizes/o/

This is what it says...

"Sag uns was Duriehst"
Ich sehe nichts.

I translated with a german translator and this is what it said:

I have landed. They waited for me. When I awoken was dark everything. I waited. The door rose. Outdoors everything was black. Cold hands have these eyes blind about mine. The hands took me after outdoors. " Run the labyrinth " I ran. And ran. And ran. " Say to us what Duriehst " I see nothing.

I don't have time to correct it or speculate something about this now, I just wanted to bring this update quickly Wink

Interesting!

My translation:
Quote:
I landed. They were waiting for me.
When I woke up, everything was dark.
I waited. The door opened. Outside everything was black.
Cold hands over my eyes made me blind.
The hands took me outside.
"Run the labyrinth."
I ran. And ran. And ran.
"Tell us what you see."
I see nothing.

If it were a personal labyrinth he were running, we would expect him to see something. His seeing nothing might signify that these people are making him run the labyrinth in an improper way...but wouldn't he, a natural Thumos, be able to tell if something were wrong with the path/etc.? Wouldn't he not be able to navigate it properly?

Oh, I see why Babelfish didn't get the last part: it's not "Duriehst" but "Du siehst" (two words, and a s rather than an r).

P.S.: there is much mention of darkness...perhaps because this fit's with Theo's command to "Stay Blind".

I think there is one small spelling error:

It reads:
"Kalte Hände haben diese Augen blinde über meine Augen getan"
which probably should be
"Augenbinde" (blindfold) without th "l" ("blinde" does not exist, even though "blind" means "blind" Wink.

So I would translate:
"Cold hands have put this blindfold over my eyes"

[MAIL] Letter from Markus

Just received a mail from Markus:

Quote:

musste. Irgendwie war es ein ganz anderes erlebnis.

Markus

Translation:

I really have escaped! I have managed to get a flight back to England, and I'm in York again.

I cannot remember much, it was horrible. I spent all the time either in darkness or with a blindfold round my head.

Theo told me that he wanted me to run endless labyrinths for him, and I was to tell I what I could see. But I couldn't see anything.

I want to meet people here in England, so I can run a labyrinth with them. I believe that a labyrinth cannot be run against one's will, it doesn't work this way. I was feeling completely strange when I had to run under Theo's orders. Somehow it was a completely different experience.

Markus

This seems really important. No one can force you to trigger the labyrinth effect - maybe this is valid even for the desynchronizing activities Theo and his people are trying to force us into?

Someone needs to relay this information back to Kai--that forced runs don't work. Hmm, but that could have been like a training labyrinth, not the personal labyrinth (which doesn't have to be run, or blindfolded, as far as we know), which is what we're going to try to get James to do?

It could also be helpful to keep prodding Markus for information about his experience...how was the running different? Is it possible that Theo made him run the labyrinth backwards (from the outside to the inside, rather than from the centre out), for example? This is important, because if (for example) Theo made him run it backwards, that could explain why it didn't work (why he didn't see anything), and it is still possible that forcing James to do a personal labyrinth correctly could still work.

I agree - do you want to forward this to Kai, Canzonett?

As you say, dreamerblue - we don't know WHY exactly Markus didn't see anything. Whether it was the forced nature, or something else entirely. And yeah, this sounds much more like training rather than a ponderous considering personal labyrinth...

I will - do we have a personal mail address for Kai? Otherwise I'm going to use my Flickr account to contact him.

I've already written back to Markus and asked him to tell us anything, really anything else he might remember.

I think the only way we have right now to contact Kai directly is through Facebook...but make sure you let him know via a personal message there, rather than writing on his wall, so that James can't read the details of the plan etc.

Right-ho. At least we can be pretty sure that Kai's plan to force James into a personal labyrinth and synchronize with his other selves probably won't work.

Well...see my comment in the thread for that discussion...I am of the opinion that the idea is to convince James to do the personal labyrinth willingly (since one person is assigned to convince him he has nothing to lose), and that the overcome-James-by-force part is basically to ensure that he doesn't immediately take off running when he sees our team.

Also, again, I think the personal labyrinth James is to do differs from the type of labyrinth Markus was forced to do. A personal labyrinth does not involve a blindfold, or running.

I'm still so pissed that only people in SF can do it.

At least now we know that TheO was lying about how Markus willingly came over. Because clearly he didn't. TheO is not trustworthy....

He could also be staging the whole thing to reinsert himself as a mole. I'm going to be very cautious with Markus for quite some time.

Kai's reply:

Quote:
Hi Canzonett,

Thanks for the heads-up! We should definitely pass this on to Ariadne! Do you have her contact information where you can email it to her?

I'm also worried about how this will effect our ability to get James to change his ways. I wonder if there's something about the way that they were getting Markus to do the personal Labyrinth which made it so that it didn't work... I mean, other people have seen visions when doing labyrinths, right? We need to get details from Markus and details from the others and see what the differences are...

We have to know this before we confront James!

Let me know what you find out. Thanks for your help!

-Kai

I've already contacted Ariadne. Let's hope that she'll react in some way!

I was talking to momonga and she pointed out that all of the personal labyrinths so far have used registers and acted as a meditative exercise. Maybe that has something to do with it?
