Okay, so we have enough of the shards to fill in some letters now, which already gives us a clue that it's not going to be a straightforward "fill-in-the-blank" kind of scenario.

If you look at the shard list/grid thing, you have the letters listed with spaces between some, in the following pattern:

_ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _
_ _ _ _ _

With the five found shards, and the two completed mscapes, this gives us the following:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
_ _
_ _ _ _ _ O E E _ _ _
E H
H _ M _ C

Which doesn't look like words to me.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Now, I thought, okay, so maybe we read them backwards, because E H could be "HE", and then the only word I could find that the last word would fit was CIMAH, which is an alternate of KIMAH, which is a Hebrew astrological name (for a star), and therefore would not be completely out of the question, given the theme.

But then we got this last shard, and I don't really think that there are a lot of words that start out _ _ _ E E O.

So I'm thinking that a combination of the 4x4 grid and the symbols referenced on the box lids is probably going to be the decoding tool. How the mscapes will fit into this, since they're obviously not on the grid, does baffle me more than a little.

The Sky MScape is up now, so I'll give that a go when I get home.

The link on that page just takes you to the main mscape site, but as far as I can tell, the game isn't up on the site yet.

I thought the same thing with the tree mscape--I thought it was up and posted because I got to the page on the sky remains site.

No worries! Like I said, I did the exact same thing! Russel_k had to show me the error of my ways.

I was hoping you'd found something, because I'm itching for a puzzle!

Hi, I've been reading and think I'm finally caught up on all the threads! I signed up for this one awhile ago but life interfered so I'm late to the party, as usual. Rolling Eyes I still have to go through the shard package contents, pics, vids etc. as I've only seen nitefoll's so far (awesome btw) - and can I say you've all been doing an amazing job? Rock On I'm also a little jealous of not having a GPS (but not so much that I'm going to go out and get a Treo, which I considered when I needed a new phone but then heard they were crappy), but it's probably moot since I'm in Texas. Meh, I say. And the GPS stuff all sounds pretty confusing anyway.

Having said that, let me hasten to add that I WILL go get a GPS if need be, and I'm NOT the only one in the state willing to go shard-hunting should the opportunity arise! Just... throwing that out there. Wink

EDIT: GAH... I meant to post this is the general [SKY][Trailhead] thread... GAH. Dunce

hi there!

I think the shards that don't have locations may end up being 'duplicates' of the shards we can't reach & being in more accessiblke places, maybe. Because there are 6 or 7 (I lost count!) shards with no locations yet so the PMs could be waiting to see which we find & then basing the next batch on what we have or haven't found. That is obviously complete spec though Smile

Also Shard 15 isn't really outside Bristol is it?? I know it's been mentioned before so when I update the wiki with 'my' shards, I'll change the location.

I just remembered as well that Harmonize is this weekend, so I would imagine that the PMs are pretty busy with that as it's one of their projects.

Rotterdam is anywhere. Liverpool or Rome. Rotterdam is anywhere, anywhere alone.

Thanks for catching the location on shard 15, setters. I've been trying to verify towns and locations for the shards, but I obviously missed that one.

One thing I have to say is that I am really impressed that the PMs managed to get the shards that they placed in the locations that they did. I mean, it's pretty cool that they didn't just put all of the shards in the UK, which would have been easy enough to do, considering that's where a good number of the players live, and where they themselves are located. Even if we can't get all of them, we should give them a thumbs up on managing to use as many locations as they have already.

I'm not sure I would have done the same if I were one of the PMs. That's an awful lot of work!

Maybe it makes me a brown-noser to say it, but Yay PMs!

I was thinking that, but as the games are sponsored/associated with HP then I imagine they gave the shards to HP employees and said "Hide These" Smile, haven't checked, but I imagine you'll find HP offices near the locations.
