They also could have contacted unforum admins and/or game design companies.

To tell you the truth, I think it's more likely that they planted the ones in California when they were over there for the big ARG thingy, and the other non-UK ones were holiday trips.

New Player and an idea

Looks like we've got a new player on the IG board. Going by the name of "Lairosiel"--just figured I'd mention it for those of you who can't view those boards.

I was thinking last night that we should probably contact Pat and Dave to find out if they can identify the woman in the video as the secretary they've met with--even though we really KNOW it is the same woman because of the trailer. I figure, though, that the trailer is sort of both IG and OOG--I mean, we get a little advanced info from it, but I think that we aren't going to be able to use any answers from it to solve any puzzles until we officially know those answers in the game.

So, question is, should we contact Pat and Dave through the main TSR site, or go over to Timehole and try to contact them there? Timehole hasn't been officially mentioned in this game, and I went over there a few weeks ago, but it didn't look like they'd updated it since Meigeist.

On the other hand, can we trust that the TSR boards aren't being monitored by the double agent?

I think what I'm going to do for the moment is send a message to Pat and Dave over at Timehole, and wait to hear from some of you to see what you think about contacting Pat and Dave on the main site.

I was just looking through the TSR site again and this jumped out at me (bold is mine):

Sounds to me like we may not have actual physical locations for all of the shards. Some may be hidden in the 6th dimension.

Could the 6th dimension locations somehow be determined through the mscape games?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. What I meant is, how to we get to the shards in the 6th dimension using the mscapes?

And actually, I just had a thought. What if the mscapes are what is in the 6th dimension? It would make sense in one way, since we have to move in our dimension, yet get data from another when we run the mscapes.

On the other hand, though, the instructions tell us to get the info from the shards and keys (presumably the mscapes are the keys), which would mean looking in the 6th dimension is something OTHER than the shards and keys.

I have a feeling that the 16 point web is going to help us get through to the 6th dimension. One thing I wonder is whether there is anything significant about the number 16?

EDIT: I hope this isn't a trout, but I just realized that there are SIX corners/SIX sides on the web.

EDIT 2: I can't believe it. I keep calling that the 16-point web a dream catcher because it looks like one, and I just realized, it actually IS a dream catcher. It has feathers on it, just like a real dream catcher. So I wonder if we're dealing with Native American legends ultimately. Or if the way you enter into the 6th dimension is somehow through dreams. I've started another spec post about the dreamcatcher in the CF with Potential forum.

The MScapes are indeed based in the 6th dimension. The mScape software acts as a viewer into the 6th dimension, and relates it to our own space. The objects we are chasing are based in the 6th dimension, which we can't see - and so we have to use the mobile device and mScape software as a portal instead.

Yes, I assumed that "and in the sixth dimension" was referring to the ones obtained from the mscape games, because they say that the mscape games are Sam's way of contacting us from the sixth dimension.

I really want something to happen in this game!

EDIT: I was able to make out a few more words.

Okay, I talked to carmenmiranda, and she said that even with the actual recording it was difficult to hear what was being said. So I'm putting what I've got for a transcript from the recordings for shards 13 and 16 here (spoilered of course) and on the wiki. Fruit-hat-lady will look at these when she is back home after the weekend, and will fill in anything that she can make out that I could not.

One thing I will say is that it is slightly easier to hear the recording from the YouTube video than the MP3 I ripped from it, although having an MP3 to work with did make it possible for me to do stuff with the equalizer in iTunes so that I could make out certain bits of it.

Sitting on the bed, near the window, looking at Wendy's photographs, and then I realized: I have to find Wendy.

She left the house suddenly, or she was taken, and the baby was due at any time, her baby was going to be born in this little world which the world had destroyed. I had to warn her, but how could I?

I was just thinking back in time, just looking back, and that's when it all started to change. That's when I left in order to come back.

(Some tones are heard. I think this is what you hear.)

Comment: On Harry's drawing we see the key with seemingly three loops around the top right next to a piano keyboard. I tried entering "FFG" as the answer for the shards and keys solution, but that didn't do it.

I think that maybe putting the shard content into chronological order will give us more information about Sam & where he's been but I don't know that it'll help us move forward.
