The splash at the end of the movie was just a nod to Fanboys. Wha What!

Just the same as the Dharma logo being a nod to the producers of Lost.

Thats what i am thinking since i saw the movie, but everybody keeps telling me that it would have a bigger meaning.
I dont think it has a bigger meaning because i think the scene was mostly focussed on Rob & Beth lovin each other. So indeed, a nod to the fanboys Wha What!

Yup, as I mentioned above, working the days backward the Chuai incisnt occured May 1st, 2009 IG. Rob and Beths Date was April 22nd. So however the falling object affected Clover and woke/release/summoned/annoyed him, it had a bit over a week to happen.
