 Computer sickness....

I hope the thread's not dead! Nice work on the names btw. Unfortunately my computer is ill - the main symptom being a blue face (screen), rather than a virus, so hopefully it will get cured before long. In the mean time I have to use my Dad's computer, which a)isn't always avalible and b)hasn't got the bookmarks that I was using to sort things out, looking things up for the ARG(s), so my contribution this weekend might be more me scribbling names etc. on paper & trying to make sense of them!

If hares change and Jacomo could be a catterpillar, then both the "hare" Slice followed and TM-A could be in the mirror world. Jacomo has always been a bit of a mystery, I wouldn't be surprised if he turned into something else - and TL said:

And, as for Slice herself, Lisa/Alis, I'll have to metamorphose her, too.
Maybe the "too" refers to the fact he's changed Jacomo into a catterpillar?

"Names for Boys & Girls" By Johnson/Sleigh My favourite name book! (published 1975, so possibly not comprehensive, but name meanings can't change too much can they?) Heres what I've got so far:
Lisa and Betty = Elizabeth = as above, also Elizabeth is another Queenly name, for what that's worth
Lynn = shortened form of Eiluned (!) 'Idol' in Welsh, also related to Lynette, who appears in Morte d'Arthur, probably not important, Arthurean myth can't be bought into the mix aswell, can it?!
Ray = Raymond = counsel/protection
"Claribel" is a character in Spenser's Faerie Queen - another 'Queen' reference ; no reference to Claribella
Mary Jane = Queen reference again! Queen Mary a Stuart Queen(as in William and Mary), and Henry VIII's 3rd wife was Jane Seymour
Joey = Joseph = increase/addition, also an addition could = Josephine - as in Napoleon & Josephine - another Queen type character?
Jeremy = as above

I seem to have noticed a lot of queens haven't I? Smile

Whoop, page 2 indeed!

I've got to say, I was looking at the kings and queens thing, but I was looking only at real ones. I realised that was getting silly when I started looking at The Dutch list of them!
But... We could be onto something there. Perhaps we have the Kings and Queens from the deck of cards?

I'll have a look into the meanings sometime today, to see if they fit. It will probably have to wait till a bit later though.

This thread will not die!!

EDIT: Make of this what you will...

Quote:
The Suit of Wands - Clubs - Fire - Creative

The realm of spirit - represents ideas, they are the primary seed or original idea and the primary element of growth. When we see wands in a reading, they point to ideas, ambition and growth. So when this is understood, we apply the number of the card to this understanding in a reading.

The Suit of Cups - Hearts - Water - Emotions

The realm of mental - this is the next step towards manifesting the idea. It is the link to the next step in the order of things. When we see the Cups in a reading, they point to desires and feelings, that inner experience that only we are aware of and may not show as outward manifestation.

The Suit of Swords - Spades - Air - Intellect

The realm of astral - represents the action. The focused intent to bring forth manifestation. Often times the swords indicate struggles as it is difficult to bring an idea into reality. When we see the suit of swords in a reading, they point to action and struggle before the final outcome.

The Suit of Pentacles - Diamonds - Earth

Realm of the physical or material, element of earth) represents the actual outcome of the matter. It is true manifestation into the material plane, the product of ones labors. When we see the suit of pentacles in a reading, they point to realization, and manifestation.

And Lady Jane Grey was Queen for a few days.

The problem I see here is that we don't know anything about Betty & Joey, so we can't really assign them to any suit. Maybe kings and queens is as far as we are supposed to get?

Rolling Eyes of course! why didn't I remember...

TL's MySpace has another reply re:Slice - from Rabbit Chaser!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
seems Jez has vanished too - is this a new cloo?

RC's page (http://www.myspace.com/rabbit_chaser ) is very AIW - would someone do that just to follow up on an online story they read?

Goodness that's a busy site! Difficult to see anything. Not sure it is IG though, I think Toby's box of fruit comment was to help us get MR James.
Aggghh, I'm going round in circles looking at these names, and no more clues seem to be forthcoming, T&I has clearly taken a long weekend, I just don't know what to do next!!!

Rabbit Chaser

Rabbit chaser did say she talked to Jez, who said we needed to find Mary Jane, so maybe that's what we have to try and do? (no idea how Laughing )

TL has replied -

A box of fruit may once have been a tree
so maybe there is something in that? unless he means it's now become a book of course. I'm off to think about the T&I code they found; don't worry, I'll be back on Slice's case later! Wink

I think Litt's reply to Rabbitchaser is a joke, most fruit boxes, card or wood, were once a tree. I think that was a Litt put-down!

Mary-Jane = MJ = Montague James?

what a bad girl you are!!!!!!!!!

Probably nothing. I am actually thinking that we have found Mary-Jane, that she was to lead us to Nick Drake. Not sure about the others though.

As said on the T&I blog, I hope Slice will lead us back to Alice (maybe 23rd April 2009?) Smile

I don't want to stop this yet! Too much fun!

EDIT:I just emailed Alice with my nomination, and asked if there's any character in her new book called Slice Smile thought it might be worth a try!

Well, let's keep trying to recruit, just as we both have been doing! I know ( erm, or hope..) there is something we are missing, but I an well and truly stumped. It doesn't help that I'm in on 3 other games that seem to have slowed down and am in the storywriting/brainbashing stage of one of my own!

I may just give TL a nudge to see if we are still missing stuff. Will let you know what comes of that.

Thanks for staying on board this one with me!

Rock On

Well I'm sure others, like myself, are viewing this but have little to contribute.

Is your game project your much-wanted Devon-centric one? Laughing
