Well I'm sure others, like myself, are viewing this but have little to contribute.

yes, I'm lurking here too, as I did with WTS, but cannot get to give a real contribution, I don't have much time lately!
anyway, I'm a bit disappointed that slice didn't show up from behind the mirror and I'd really like to know something more from that story!so, I really hope we can find out something... better: I really hope there IS something to find out! Wink

As a story, Slice would work (if unsatifactorarly) without anything added, just one of those stories you get with looses ends all over the place. The fact that the story didn't just end - that TL left a message on the board to lead us to some cloos suggests to me that the story hasn't ended.

We don't know what happened to Mary Jane and her parents, or to Slice and her parents. I think we are supposed to do something...VB & I just have gotten a little bit stuck. Maybe some fresh brains will help us out? - Lurkers just read the cloos, follow the thread, see if there's anything obvious that we've missed!

 This is the end

This from TL today:

Quote:
A box of fruit would be the box set of Nick Drake's albums, Fruit Tree.

There you would find that some of the character names are from song lyrics and titles, and all of the other ones from musicians who made the albums.

I was surprised no-one checked this.

The Nick Drake birth date and the Nick Drake names (particularly Jacomo) were meant to lead, ultimately, to the Ian McDonald essay on him. Just as the hare was meant to lead to my website, the links there, and to Ghost Story.

Reading the two things together closely wouldn't necessarily lead you to Slice, which may be a disappointment to some. (Sorry.) But if a hare in one place becomes a hare in another, and can go back in time, then...

As with the hare, I hope to pick up with Slice again later.

All questions are now answered it seems. Thanks to all of you lurkers, and especially to IngyW. This has been an engaging (if somewhat frustrating!) journey.
I am also pleased that we made it to 3 pages!

 So It's all over...

Bit angry that TL couldn't have drip feeded us the answers, told us to check the albums or something. Was this whole thing a Red Herring? Evil or Very Mad

I did enjoy it though, and he hopes to get back to Slice, maybe with T&I part 2....

Crying or Very sad I'm sorry it's all over, it was so much fun!
