Again, choosing teams could leave them unbalanced.

We can't really have one team with Esteed that 89 people decide to choose, Night's team which has him alone (lol) and another team with 0.

I think random would be the best way to approach this. Or we can pick team captains (but that seems too time consuming)

Good call Avatrix, I agree. We can list the items and then check them off as we go, so that time is not wasted.

I agree, random teams is a better way to go.

We are not competing against each other, so teams in that sense do not have to be "even" and "fair". We are gathering stuff for everyone. So, if one area has stuff to do, then a group from that area should cover it....at least that is how I am thinking of it. We are still working together for the same goal. I believe this is what Doc had in mind, to reek havoc amongst everyone for no particular reason.

I am not ASSIGNING teams, I am just going to show everyone what area ppl are from........and they can decide.

Hey guys,

Just a note to let you know that it is related to 48 Hours in Purgatory, but it is also a completely different type of game for which you need no knowledge of 48.

I need to stress that it's a complete sideline!

The writer thought it would be interesting to let a seperate plot point play out therefore, no mention or direct bearing of the 48 plot.

Us "OG"ers from 48 noticed the similarities in the writing style and characters, however it is a different story with a different set of PMs.

It's most likely an internet search so area's have nothing to do with it. I'm saying that the teams should be equal in members to divide the work load. If they're balanced, the search will be done more productively. It would be unfair to divide the list equally among unequal teams. I'm not in anyway trying to instill a "competition" between us. Not once did any of my posts even imply that, so I don't really understand why you're arguing this.

I really think we need to wait to find out what we're doing before we split ourselves into teams. Simply because the kind of teams that we need may depend on the task.
For instance, if it is an internet-only task, then random teams would be fine. But if the physical world is involved, we may want to split into regional teams. Or, when we see it, we may think teams are not even necessary. So I really think we should just keep this all in mind, but hold off on any actual team-assigning until we know exactly what's going on.
Just my two cents.

I think what Callista is trying to say is this:

Team 1 has ten members. Team 2 has thirty, and Team 3 has 45. It would be ridiculous to expect Team 1 to be responsible for the same amount of stuff as Team 3. This is why we need to have some structure to creating the teams.

I believe there's only a select few of us (including me) anywhere near Simcoe. Why would the PM make this task available for only, like a 6th of the member base? Also, Doc DID specify search engines.

Anyways, I already said once before, it's a precaution. The last task was barely made because of time restrictions. Who knows whether 24 hours will be enough? Point is, if we organize with the head start he's given us, it can't hurt.
Edit Esteed's got it. It's really not even that complicated.

To Team or Not to Team...

We're all going to be on the HTH site at midnight tonight to get the items for the scavenger hunt. We won't know how best to break up (abilities, areas, interests, knowledge, skills, etc) until then - when we'll know what Doc is asking for.

How about if have a discussion here, with an update on HTH, as soon as we know what the Doc is asking and take a couple of minutes to divide (if necessary) once we have the information we need?

I'll have to sadly be extremely quiet. I'm visiting my parents until tommorrow night.

Oh and I live in Waterloo Ontario so I'm somewhat close to Simcoe. I could figure a way there if need be later on.

I'm registered and caught up.

That would be fine except I don't think it would only take a couple minutes to divide really.

The obvious solution is this: make a division plan (I.E., divide the member list in thirds) incase it's an online search, or me and the few others that are playing hop it to simcoe.

It's nothing worth arguing over.

Actually dividing geographically is pretty even. And those that don't list a location, I added to the team with less. So here is a list, take it or leave, but something to work from. (these are NOT teams, just a list of members by area, sortof)(and only members that have posted here, actively, and some from map)

You forgot me, Coffee. I'm in the South, if for some reason we divide teams up by location.
