We can't find anything called Jabado in Brest, except it's a kind of dance, like a square dance.
But we have found one or two Bar's called Le Jabadao in Brest.
We are trying to nail down which one.

To quote Dante:
it's confusing because the place in Brest is called "Jabadao Bar" and the place in Crozon is called "Le Jabadao"

Jabadao Bar in Brest appears to be at 5, Rue Massillon (phone # 298444068)
Crozon is just a stone's throw from Brest.
The # for the Crozon place is 02 98 27 03 12
"PARKING PENANDREFF - 29160 CROZON"

So one is at 5 Rue Massillon in Brest.
The other is at Penandreff in Crozon.

I'm not listing the phone #'s so we can call, but so I can keep them straight.

the search has been ongoing in chat for "le jabado". Minimal web hits were found; some referring to a bird, some to a dance, but mostly proper names, and nothing standing out as a place in Brest.

sapagoo considered it might be "jabadao", and there's a strong possibility it could be a bar in Brest with the name "Jabadao Bar"
Other possibilities are being checked...

I cross posted to Lucie's forum.
I posted the instructions from the omphaputer, plus
Quote:
Best guesses are either
Jabadao Bar in Brest at 5 Rue Massillon
or
Le Jabadao discotheque in Crozon at Penandreff

We probably need to start calling in favors from friends, family, and acquaintances in France.

Spoiler tags below to maintain [TIAG] standards.

Although both places seem like they might have an equal chance of hosting the artifact, you have to know that in France you have to pay to get inside a discothèque - about 20€ per person, usually - and it wouldn't make very much chance for
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
puppetmasters to put the artifact in a place where you'd get charged just to recover it
.

With this in mind, I picked up the phone and called the bar instead of the discothèque, and had a short but interesting conversation with a staff member there.

I first asked if the place had a side room with a table and books, and the fact that the man answered "I don't know" already sounded a little strange. But when I talked about someone forgetting something by the table in said side room, the person answered
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"According to the contract, you're supposed to come and pick it up in person, monsieur"
after which I just said thanks and hung up the phone.

Now trying to get in touch with people in the area - to think that's the one part of France where I don't have anyone crazy enough at the ready for such a thing Laughing

Funny!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If there's a contract, I wonder if they're getting paid to "host" an artifact. I'd think they would've been told how to answer questions like yours! Look how good Bruxelles was at admitting nothing...

Or maybe, as others on IRC suggested, a
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
signed agreement that the place won't "hold" the document for anyone, so as to encourage people to network and look for help within the area.

I'm working on a connection as well. I have a local friend who's a France native and has family and friends back there.. She is trying to get ahold of someone who lives in Brest.

I think we are going to have to start calling in favors.
Anyone belong to an international organization that might have an outpost in Brest?

I think there is an Esperanto Society in Paris, but I didn't see one in Brest.

Although, the Cinematheque de Bretagne in Brest speaks 4 languages - French, English, Breton, and Esperanto.

Maybe if we have someone call them and speak Esperanto, they'll do us a favor. (or if you can speak Breton - more power to you).

I think you're right.. my contact isn't able to coordinate her favors either, as she's been trying for a week.

I just contacted an Esperanto speaker in Brest. I don't know the guy, hopefully he'll do it.

Sounds good. The esperanto community has been very welcoming so far. They seem happy to see the language being used in a mainstream project. Maybe you'll draw him in to the game, besides just being a courier.

I have also contacted somebody in Brest in between, but he hasn't answered so far. So, as soon as you have a definite answer from the Esperanto guy, please let me know. Then I will inform my contact that we don't need him anymore.
