not even close to being the same... and who says she wasn't looking for escape options, there just might not have been any.

just like we had no way to pass the test, it seems. This was all just rigged from the start, and well, for being a game... it doesn't seem fair for us. Again I feel cheated :/

Well if this is the end, I'll pretend it wasn't and imagine my own ending Razz

I think it's worth waiting a while to see what Doc has to say. He might have been studying our reactions to what we think happened.

You aren't the only one that's going to feel a little cheated, Tenchizard.

My thoughts on this matter: If this was always the inevitable outcome, that to me signifies that this isn't really a full fledged ARG, but rather something more akin to Lonelygirl, interactive fiction. For me, a huge piece of what makes something an ARG is if the players have a say in how things go down. If the inevitable end result was Bex's death, we didn't have a whole lot of say, now did we? And if that is the case, I am going to be a little angry at having annoyed a great deal of the people in my life trying to complete these tasks thinking that there was actually a chance at success.

That said, perhaps I would enjoy it more as purely a sidestory if I was a 48HiP player. I might have been able to go, "Hey, neat story, it's nice to know what happened to these characters." I can look at it objectively and realize this.

If this really is the end, I would like some kind of confirmation on a few things, though. A.) Whether the inevitable outcome was Bex's death. B.) Whether the game was really rigged. C.) Confirmation that this is in fact the end, so that I can move on and stop paying attention to the threads or the Hall of Judges without wondering whether more closure will be coming.

Well, there we have it. We could've won, but there weren't enough entries to garner the necessary points.

I wasn't saying the situations were the same, I was saying the level of compassion was the same. At first, tons of it, then if a person doesn't do anything to help their own situation, then the compassion level goes down. Where was Bex's effort? I am not 'blaming' her, but I am saying that she did not give her full effort to get out of the situation. There is only so much ppl on Twitter can do, she has to be able to physically try something, as we can't do that. The last video when he bent over to pick up the gas can.......perfect oportunity to put a boot in his ass. Left alone in the house, opportunity to try to 'unwire' the house. Turn off the power, cut some wires, jump out a window....something. If one knows they are going to die anyways, why sit there and wait for it? We were harped on many times about compassion...I am saying there might be less compassion as time goes on, if one isnt willing to help themselves.

163 sounds like a lot, but it really isn't considering how many people were sort of playing and how many different options we had. If everyone did only two of the options we would have made it. That's too bad. However a lot of people didn't like the way this game was run, so it makes sense that most weren't really willing to do much. So you can say it's Doc fault for driving so many people away!

What does
Quote:
Smoke Detector Igniter Connect
mean? He wired the house with smoke detectors too?

Wonder how many of the registered users were Doc and if anyone else registered more than once (natas did). So the numbers were not ever going to add up, another reason for failure.

The game was never "Fair" if it had been we would have been able to contact the Virtual Police and stopped the Doc before he abducted her. Also telling us only that the number of points to save her is "Set quite high" means that we had no way of possibly getting enough points. If we had gotten 163 then he could have said required points 326 and so on.

I believe failure was the intended outcome and I doubt I will ever be convinced otherwise.

163? What a random number!! that means 80+ ppl completing 2 tasks each... not reasonable at all in my book, by that point with ppl leaving, i seriously doubt we had 80 ppl even counting the lurkers

The part that catches my attention is

My guess is that 163 was for the number of people registered on H2H (162) + 1.

Like you, I'm curious about the Nextup -0013 lostgunslinger2.

I hope that "next up" means something else is going to happen as well. However the PM needs to act quick if he still has plans. People are going to drop off like flies if they're convinced it's over.

If this isn't the endgame, they better get on the stick very, very quickly. This looks exactly like an endgame, and if it isn't, they need to make that clear somehow before too many people start cutting loose.
