Playing nice is neccesary in here for sure, but i got to admit, it sure as hell is difficult at times when people literally get offended when other people make a wrong comment. I just wanna add this to the pot, and hope that people just take a second to hear me out. We are all in this together. No matter if you have 4000 posts on here or 10. Everyone in here is here for the same purpose, and that is to make some type of sense out of what JJ Abrams and friends are giving us to decipher. So what if somebody says something that has already been disproven?! just trout them politely and move on.

Theres no need to degrade somebody else or make them feel stupid, when they didnt even know that the subject had already been put to bed. When i first came here, i guess i was lucky for the most part cuz until i learned most of the rules, whenever i got trouted it was by relatively cool, and definitely nice people for the most part. i'll admit that i DID get reamed out a couple times, and i still do every now and then, n hell, ill even admit that whenever somebody says something offensive to me, i retort (and i try to do so as politely as humanly possible for each given situation, lol) with a "chill out and get over it already", but to fight over stupid words is just rediculous.

Seriously guys, new AND old, nobody is more entitled to being right than anyone else on here unless you are an admin on the forums. So please, if you DO see somebody saying something and its been proven that they are wrong already, dont badmouth them, or put them down for being wrong. Help them get the picture, and try not to make them feel like they dont belong here. You never know, one day YOU might be the one whos wrong, and the person you degraded two days earlier might seize the oppurtunity to get back at you. Let's just cut out the bullshit and work towards the same goal, in the same god damn direction, ok everyone?

thanks.

P.S -- BOOOOOOOOYA!! IM DECORATED NOW!! WoOt!!

All this is to show is that after clover was awakened or freed he had a few meals along the way. These carcasses were washed up on the beach as result of MGP getting a few meals (Thousands of years, You know you would want a big mac!) All the pictures on 1-18-08 have proved to be part of the "investigation" it's like a pile of evidence. Well that's my .02

Even though I have no doubt that it's whales, isn't it a little odd that a handful of whales(that appear to be different species) all wash ashore at the same place?

A pod of the same species, I'd understand, but it looks like we've got a sperm, somesort of baleen whale, and something else in the shot.

*gets the cooler and ice ready...I like my trout to stay fresh*

First off, I HIGHLY DOUBT that the marketers would have put up a picture of a dead Clover, or even implied it. For one, they may not have been even aware what he looked like. Two, it's not their business to "kill" him. That's up to the filmmakers. Three, the filmmakers have admitted they weren't that involved in the marketing. Four, why use obvious WHALES to denote a dead Clover?

Second, the timeline for the station attack relative to the NYC attack is set pretty firmly in stone. Chaui was attacked prior to the party, evidenced by the Jamie storyline. With that established, the pictures on 1-18-08 were released in an order that implies that indeed there was a military response against the monster that failed. We have pics from the station, then the attack (preceded by a destroyed military boat), then the dead whales showing that whatever they were trying to destroy survived. Seems pretty obvious if you don't try to overthink it.

Now that does raise the interesting idea that some military somewhere KNEW something was going on, and given the hardware it was probably ours. My opinion: They knew it was out there. You don't miss something on deep sea sonar THAT BIG once it's moving and making noise/disruptions. They probably tracked Clover as best they could and hoped he wouldn't go ashore. When it looked like he would, they prepped for defense. All of this done quietly without alerting the media (or disinforming them). Then, once he made landfall, they moved in and we know the rest...mostly.

If (and it's a big if) the military killed Clover, it happened off screen and outside the information we've been given. I reiterate my previous statement that JJ was just simply talking off the cuff or was being deliberately misleading. In either case, we'll only know the truth if a true sequel comes out or they tell us via the viral marketing like they did with the underwater pics.

Probably just a "deliberate" error on the part of the graphics artist trying to get a good shot together. Sometimes you have to take artistic license to get the image across and hope no one notices. Unfortunately, as the 'goofs' page of any movie in IMDB proves, people ALWAYS notice.

Yeah that would be a strange occurence. Different species indeed. I would say Sperm whale top left for sure. The really beat up one on the right is definetely a humpback for sure with the underside of its belly as proof. and the one on the left foreground I want to say shark or even dolphin. It seems clover woke and was EXTREMELY hungry so he was munching on everything. What I want to know is what beach that is.

i would agree with m_talon that the military knew about it. or at least knew SOMETHING.

i would take a hell of a lot more time to coordinate a military strike of that magnitude in the middle of friggin NYC. the monster came ashore for a little while, and BAM, here's tanks and bazookas and bombs.

i know we all try to rely on facts, but common sense itself would dictate that something was known at some point. it's not like there's just an army reserve base in the NYC tunnels, replete with tanks.
