Here is just a smple of the conversation we had... Shift works or once worked for NRU

Addlepated: Red Knight is also known as Caretaker or T Jones
katya2032: SPECTRUM agents wanted to use Reggie to reveal who Red Knight is. We are still unsure of his identity.
SHIFT: So the person who's looking for me is the person who told you about SPECTRUM.
SHIFT: Katya, that's NOT possible.
Magesteff-: Not certain they were SPECTUM agents either could be Echelon
SHIFT: Echelon would find Reggie in a heartbeat if they wanted him.
SHIFT: No one who was involved with SPECTRUM would care about
reggie.
SHIFT: The only person I know of who was involved in SPECTRUM wouldn't harm Reggie.
MosServ: Was Turgenev involved?
ozarkcat20: can you tell us who that was
SHIFT: God Damnit. You know about Turgenev too?
Magesteff-: And where he is
Magesteff-: and who he is
SHIFT: This caretaker has his fingers in a messy pie. Who is he and what does he want?
Magesteff-: SOmeone who does not want to see Spectrum repeated Magesteff-: And Ex intel


MosServ: SHIFT: But who are you?

SHIFT: Someone who's about to go back under with the knowledge that caretaker's putting people's lives in danger.
MosServ: We know that people want him badly.
MosServ: How do we know you're not associated with them?
SHIFT: If there were any survivors of SPECTRUM. I can only think of a few people they would want badly.

SHIFT: Alright. I can tell you this much. SPECTRUM was light years ahead of the world in research.
SHIFT: Soviet funded. They worked on all kinds of technology. All of it for military use.
SHIFT: From what I've learned from reading documentation they worked on the first attempts to build a spaced based laser.
SHIFT: They did work on timetravel too.
Addlepated: Did the work result in anything tangible?
SHIFT: The project for SPECTRUM was based where the biological problems occured.
SHIFT: They were able to send small objects back in time but russians couldn't figure out how to isolate the quantum state long enough send larger objects back.
SHIFT: Hell they couldn't accurately pinpoint WHEN they were sending stuff to.
SHIFT: Tabas was such an event.
RAMiles: so they could send small things back but didnt know how far back they sent it?
SHIFT: They somehow sent a box back and it came back in the middle of a fault line.
SHIFT: There were other failures and then a HUGE leap in successes..
SHIFT: Then nothing but critical failures.
SHIFT: Does any of that fit with what you know?
Magesteff-: How much mass became a problem Shift?
SHIFT: I don't think it was a mass issue. They had enough power to send back an elephant if they could stablize the quantum state.
SHIFT: The successes weren't so much "Sending a chicken back in time" but they were able to narrow down energy requirements, proper safety against damaging items sent back.
SHIFT: ozarkcat the tried sending a couple men back in time but they were never able to recover them.
SHIFT: That's what I meant by monumental failure.

SHIFT: He's built a backdoor into Acheron the software NRU runs for security.
Addlepated: The software name is Acheron?
SHIFT: Yep.
SHIFT: I don't remember the revision but remember the logo.
SHIFT: always looked wierd.

 		This may make no sense at all but I think SHIFT is from the future.

He says they are trying to find a way to take him home.

He also says that he is constantly getting closer to home (the future)

Just something to toss around

Speculation is welcomed and encouraged. In fact, time travel is a recurrent theme in Acheron. Nothing is impossible. Try to keep the conversation constructive, ok?

Do you have some speculation that you would like to add?
