Spoilerific Aaron Eckhart interview

I didn't see this anywhere else on the forum, so...

In this fairly recent interview of Aaron Eckhart, (http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/la-ca-echkart-2008may04,0,932553.story) he seems to totally give away two major plot points.

For those too lazy to click the link:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He mentions that Two-Face is actually a vigilante in the movie, as opposed to a criminal mastermind. Which is quite interesting and not something I'd heard before. Second, the big one, he mentions that Dent's fiancee is killed. Which seems to indicate that when Joker drops Rachel Dawes off of the building, its less Spider-Man the movie than Spider-Man the comic.

Interesting. Thank you for posting, and using the Spoiler tag. Smile

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"The difference between Batman and Two-Face is how far they are willing to go and how they make their point," Eckhart said. "Otherwise, we're talking about vigilante crime-fighting. That's what Batman is all about. He has a strong sense of justice. And Harvey Dent has an extremely strong sense of justice. His fiancée is killed. He's horribly injured. But he is still true to himself. He's a crime fighter, he's not killing good people. He's not a bad guy, not purely."
I don't think that is too far outside of Two Face's character. Two Face always acted on his own warped sense of justice, but how they take his character in TDK is, obviously, yet to be seen.

Also, up until I saw the new trailer last week I thought we'd be getting more of a tease of Two Face, but now I think we'll get a nice helping of him, and that's just fine by me.

Strongly agreed.

I also thought that we would get a very small slice of Two Face at the end of the flick. Primarily to set up Batman 3.

Has anyone else heard that Nolan has gone on record as saying, I will not do anymore Batman films after the third installment. ????

Meaning either,

1. Warner Bros. has more films slated and Nolan just wants to move on to original material

or

2. the money just isn't right yet.

what do you think?

I haven't heard or read that, but I think it'd be too early to speculate either way. If they release "Batman 3" three years after The Dark Knight we won't see it until 2011; they've got some time to decide. Smile
