In my experience, there are two fuels for teams. Coffee and beer. Stress and relief. This wasn't a kegger, it was just a couple of beers. Am I totally off base?

[EMAIL] Another Nate LinkedIn response

No real new data but thought I'd post just in case some of you smarter folk see something. If anything, it just shows he's *really* smitten with Eliza Very Happy

I wrote:

Hey Nate,

Sorry for seeming so "forward" - I guess us San Diegans are a friendly bunch Smile

Well, let's just "network" then Smile I'm looking for a QA position and I notice your company has a Sr. Software Engineer in QA opening. I've contacted HR, solved their fun little puzzle, but haven't heard anything back - any suggestions you can offer me?

Thanks,
Over-Friendly Celina Very Happy

Oh no worries. Just things are getting pretty serious between me and my girlfriend and I'm nervous. I guess I'll have to get used to friendly!

As far as HR, I don't know what the deal is. Not to rag on HR, but they are slow. All I know is there are open positions which I hope they fill so I can go home a little earlier. Good luck.

Hm...I can't help but think that "No More Beer" means something...yet Nate is the everyday guy here - doesn't seem like he would be trying to hide anything.

So the Missing words might be: Let And Are On I, or do you guys think its some type of anagram?

Hopefully not breaking rules, I'm still new to ARG stuff, but I can't help myself now. I want to see where this all goes.

Basically, I told my school about the job posting, and they may take it down or do some more research, and possibly get more answers unintentionally.

I did get a bit more info which I didn't see in this thread after searching and so forth. For Holomove, the UCSD career website lists its contact info thusly:

Industry: Marketing/Communication
Overview: Advertising Agency

Street Address:
600 battery streeet

City
San Francisco

State
California

Zip Code
94111

Didn't see much with Google Maps or streetview, though...

Gunslinger, Just to be clear it's "re" not "are" because of the grammar. Were, not we're. Smile

Also I think "and" and "on" are debatable since it could be correct without adding those two words. That would leave "let a re i"

Just my 2 cents.

And for uptodate's sakes, just cos:

(reponse to my connection request on LinkedIn)

Caroline,

Thanks for your keen interest in Holomove.

While I've wanted to establish a network at Linkedin my work has had me too busy to do so. It would be a pleasure to have you in my network given your interest. If you have applied for a job here I'm certain that either Annie Goldstein (our recruiter) or the team manager for the position you are applying for will be in touch but I do know that they have a good number of resumes for the open positions we have at this time.

Also, the policy here (established by the founder Dr. Gough) puts applicants for all positions through a number of puzzles and tests before you are even given a phone interview. Good luck with your application! Nice to have you in my network.

Eliza

Ofcourse now I should probably use my actual work experience in my cv, as it's listed in LinkedIn...

i was adding the 'a' to the 're' because 're' isnt a word, thats all. Good point though, some of the words aren't necessary.

Just had a thought; Flickr account, since being bought by yahoo, are also Yahoo IDs.

That means that randomknowledge might be a Yahoo IM handle, and it seems it is. Currently offline, but exists.

EDIT: Another thought; maybe this is marketing for an ad agency? Maybe they need more jobs? Razz

Hawk, not to rain on your parade- cnet already outed McCann. I guess it just never got crossposted here so we could cover our eyes and pretend we didn't see it. But, earlier today in the chat when Vecheeso contacted Holomove, and the receptionist gave him(her? sorry, don't know Smile) an alternate email address to contact, it went to an ad writer who lists McCann on his resume. We can only assume he was mistakenly given an OOG number, but regardless, it looks like the guy he(she?) was told to contact. Regardless, yes, I think we can count on McCann being the PMs here. So from here on out... shhhhhhhhh... Smile

You can create a name for a flickr that is different from your yahoo ID (my flickr is konamouse but it is attached to a different yahoo profile/name, not my konamouse yahoo account).

Also, I hate to ask this, but since I am blocked from blogspot at work (as others may be), is it possible that when a new blog is posted, someone can archive it in here (and what if something changes, we then have the original).

Thanks!

no, thats ok, sry if i seemed defensive... its just... you mentioned grammar, and grammar is sort of a sore subject of mine. Grammar and I haven't had the best of relationships throughout school... not because I have trouble with it, mind you, I just had a fun-deficit during those lectures...
