I've been conversing with James as well. Seems I always arrive second on these things Laughing
BTW-- I pretended like I didn't know he was with Theo at first, I just acted like Victor had mentioned something....don't know if he believed me...
Anyway, mostly the same stuff, but it did get me curious...

Dear James,
I've been following Markus, Noriko and the other amnesiacs. My friend got your email address from Noriko and sent you an email about trying to find Markus. I have not heard from him recently, so I thought maybe I should try to ask you.
Do you have any idea where Markus is, and if so, can you please help us find him?
I am a Thumos-- I have no concern for any danger that might be near. I just want to find him and help him. I want to know what 'Theo' is doing to him, that made him cry for help on his Twitter....
Please, please help me!

Hi Alice,

Thank you for your email. Markus Joined some of my compatriots a week or so ago. I gather that you and your friend Javier are alarmed by the recent post on his blog, but really it's nothing to worry about, it was meant more to shake things up than anything else.
The reason that Markus hasn't been able to respond recently is that they've been involved in some very intense research. Because Markus is a new arrival he's got some of the latest information so we've been trying to use that info to shed light on some theories we've had for a while. It's involved a lot of concentration, so he and the others have sequestered themselves from almost all outside contact.
As for us 'doing something' to him as you claim, that couldn't be farther from the truth! We need him as much as he needs us, everyone is helping everyone else! Obviously I cannot tell you the details of what we have discovered until we know more. To reveal anything could mean revealing everything as I'm sure you know.

I certainly understand why it might appear that Markus is in danger, and I applaud your courage in the face of danger. That could be a very useful trait when the time comes. As is often said, talk is cheap...

Sincerely,
James Mutters

I apologize, I didn't realize you were allied with Theo.....
I was thinking. Another of my friends (not Javier) was considering that maybe guys have the right, and that desynchronizing the worlds isn't such a bad idea (after all, why are we basing all our beliefs on a bunch of old pieces of paper written in a language only a few understand?).
I know that you don't know much, and that you have no reason to trust me, but is it possible I could apply for membership (or whatever it is that you want) so I could join your group? I really am curious as to what exactly synchronization does to a world, and what your 'theories' are that you have....

ETA-- reordered them so they made more sense Razz

WOW.

There's James, and then... there's JAMES.
No the guy I expected to have met in SF. (Although James telling Kai to go to South Africa did seem a little fishy.)

I may get in contact with him again, although probably not. I want to contact Kai, but he seems to be immune to all lines of communication! Sad

Wait, sorry, I've missed a lot recently. So what do we know about James now?

So far, all we know is that James is a member of TheO, and that they've currently got Markus. (Actually, according to James, he joined them of his own accord...)
And apparently that 'Help' message from his twitter was just to 'stir things up'....
I don't know who to trust now, and I'm sure that's the point Razz

Why do you think so? Cineball wrote here:

He's the reason Kai was in Africa to begin with. In talking with Kai Sunday he said that James encouraged him to travel in the first place to South Africa, a trip which Kai would not have made otherwise.

EDIT: Oh, does "fishy" mean that the story makes James suspicious? I thought it was doubted that James's had told Kai to go to South Africa. Very sorry.

fishy folks

It seemed like James sent Kai to the place where they predicted a blindfolded athlete would turn up.

And Jack who picked up Markus is a little suspect for the same reason- We want to believe in the kindness of strangers who happened upon these stranded agonothetai, but everything is fishy at is point. I don't know the other athlete's stories so well. Wasn't Noriko sent the postcard and goggles at the place of the person who was helping her? How did TheO know an address to use in that case?

Re: fishy folks

Thank you, jasper. As I wrote above, I misunderstood the word "fishy".

Yes. They were sent to Miki's place.

I'm not sure, but Kai might have known her address, so James might have heard from Kai. I looked through her blog but couldn't find how Noriko made her first contact with Kai.

Re: fishy folks

My translation of Noriko's reply in her forum:
Quote:
When I met Kai at San Francisco, I met James too. He said "Tell me whatever I can help you", and he looked like very kind ....

But I'm not sure yet whether Markus has gone to Theo's side, or he's forced to do so, or he's just pretending to be on Theo's side ....

And I feel anxious that I don't know on which side Kai is. If he is on Theo's side, why does he help us?

More importantly, why does the opposite try to prevent multiverse coordination?
Can Thumos and Chariton sound out TheO's purpose?

-Noriko

I haven't sent out a podcast in a while, but I'd be willing to switch it up a bit. My last broadcast was a bit mistrusting of Theo, maybe I could be a bit gung-ho for him this time trying to get his attention.

Adversely, I may make it sound as though I'm anti-theo while all the while trying to contact them, telling them it's all a clever ruse.

Any thoughts?
