Which band are you referring to lupinechaos?

Evil dead the musical? That's.....interesting. Haha, i love the evil dead movies, but man, a musical of it just sounds bizarre.
On saturday i went to knotts berry farm and spent the entire day with my girlfriend, sunday pretty much sat around, smoked, etc., and yesterday i woke up for work and just decided to sporadically go to universal studios with my girl and bought season passes. Man, this weekend was weird. I loved it. But now i'm broke. Sad times.
Can't wait to pick up the slipknot cd after work...

Oh you fuckin suck man! You live in Florida? (or California right?) Regardless, you can sporadically shoose to go to Universal Studios and I fucking hate you for it. hhaha

We have something like that here. Canada's Wonderland. It's a pretty standard amusement park except Paramount took it over years agp and now theres all these rides based on Paramount movies. the Top Gun rollercoaster is insane. Straight down spiralling. haha.

Ya, the musical was great fun. I really really hate muscials, but Iit was great. Minus a couple lame songs they were mostly very funny. A lot of the jokes were tailored to nerds like me who know the movies so well. They kinda merged the first 2 movies, and only mentioned Army of Darkness really quickly at the end. Some of the jokes were really good, and you could tell who'd seen the movies by who was laughing the hardest.

The daughter of the guy who owns the cabin meets that hillbilly Jake (by this point another gir had already been raped by the trees) and they ask him "You're out in these woods all alone", and he says "well I shouldn't be alone, my girlfriend bobby-joe should be here, but that one girl already got attacked by the trees so her character would be kinda pointless & redundant". haha. little shit like that.

The guy who played ash was pretty good too. Managed to fit in a lot of good line from all 3 movies. He did the whole 'Boomstick' speech toward the end. haha.

Listening To: These Arms Are Snakes - Woolen Heirs

So the new slipknot.........i can't figure out if i like it. There's a few songs (psycho social, all hope is gone, gematria, dead memories, wherein lies continue, gehenna), but it all seems like it's kinda watered down. Maybe because i've grown to love harder and more technical music than i used to, this doesn't seem nearly as interesting as an album that took 4 years to make should sound like. Even the harder songs that have no singing almost sound like alt rock medlies. And the softer sound that they experimented with in vol. 3 that worked marvelously aren't nearly as experimental sounding on this album. It will probably grow on me. Vol. 3 took nearly a year before i grew to love it, but as for now this album is definitely the worst of the 4. It's not terrible, but for a slipknot album it seems pretty bad.

Concert last night....epic. I missed after the burial, arsonists get all the girls, arsis, abigail williams, and stick to your guns because we got lost, but we still got to see winds of plague, misery signals, parkway drive, as blood runs black, and darkest hour. Parkway drive was absolutely insane; one of the best bands i've ever seen live. ABRB and darkest hour get a close second for their respective performances. I even got a ABRB shirt signed by the guitarrist and talked to him and his mom for a bit. My neck, head, and ears are still suffering, but it was definitely worth it.

So before jarsofsap (or anyone else for that matter) have a chance to respond to my All Hope is Gone review, i'd like to revise it.
I've been forcing myself to listen to the album for the past 3 days; at work, in the car, at home, with my girlfriend (she loves em too), etc. And although i felt completely the opposite yesterday, i'm starting to see the genius in this album. Of course i'm still in love with the songs i listed (even that weird high note in Gehenna is starting to grow on me), but even the songs i disliked before sounded....different this morning. Not quite sure what it was, but i haven't had this same feeling about music since some of the songs in Vol. 3 started to grow on me. It just now kinda hit me that, from certain perspectives, this truly IS their heaviest work yet.

I still don't think I'd call it their heaviest, even from the perspective you're talking about.

It is growing on me somewhat, but there are still songs I'll never like. Pretty much just Dead Memories and Snuff. After a whole bunch of listens I find them to be pure garbage. The rest of the album holds up pretty well, and Vendetta might be my favourite track, but I just got back from camping with buddies (who also love the band) and realised we didn't listen to one single song from the album. And the whole trip was pretty much just music non-stop. So I dunno how much I like it overall.

Great great fuckin trip though. Saturday was the laziest day any of us have ever had. We took some shrooms and literally sat in front of the stereo for at least 6 hours. Melloooooooowwwww! hahah. Great time.
Kyuss is very good music for psychedelic drugs.

Listening to: Head (ya, the guy who was in Korn) - Home
(his album's not that bad actually. just too many direct references to Korn and Jesus. haha)

I meant heavy as in how Revolver magazine put it; it wasn't their heaviest musically speaking, but heaviest as in their attitude that is laced throughout it. It's not a "we're big bad slipknot" album like Iowa was, but more of a "we're gonna kick your fucking ass" album.
I actually don't mind dead memories or snuff. The only song that i really can't stand is butcher's hook.

Sounds like a pretty dope weekend. Mine was pretty decent too. On friday we had a party, where i convinced my current girlfriend and my ex to make out. I swear, i am able to convince people to do anything; i'm like a modern-day hitler, without the jew killing.
Other than that it was a pretty kick back weekend. Just played smash bros brawl, watched some movies, and smoked a whole lot. Didn't do much, but i needed a lazy weekend.

Still, sounds like a cool weekend. Haven't been to a house party in ages.

I'm mostly focused right now on how the new Metallica record DOESN'T SUCK! I was completely shocked. Listened to the whole thing twice already. It sounds like a perfect medium between 90' and 80's Metallica. The shortest song is 5 min, and there's even a 10 min instrumental. I'm just blown away. I expected to just kinda sorta like it, but I'm really diggin this. Buying it for sure. Great driving tunes. There are only a couple short parts where it sounds like their forcing the heavy riffs, but I'm already getting used to those bits. The single is probably my least favourite song, and definitely the softest of the album.

Listening To: Metallica - This Was Just Your Life
(Damn... just Damn!)

Haha, naw there was like a few day lull back there that was br00tal.
I can't bring myself to listen to new metallica, just because of the past of new metallica. But if you're saying it's good, than damn i'll have to give it a listen.
Looking forward to a pretty boring weekend coming up. Going home tonight to introduce my girlfriend to my parents. Then on sunday i'm going to a buddy's wedding. I'll have to fit in some smoking in there somewhere...

Listening to Rev Theory - Hell Yeah! (shut up, this shit is so fuckin catchy!)

ya, i'm fully behind new Metallica. I wasn't ready to be saying shit like that either. I was prepared to only sorta like a few songs, maybe not even that much. So that's why I'm blown away. I like every song. it's not a complete return to the 80's sound, but they've mixed that style with everything since, and it actually works really well. you'll have to see for yourself.

think i'm goin to one of the midnight madness films at toronto international film festival this weekend. maybe not the one this sat, but i've got tickets to one next weekend, and fuck it looks crazy. french people make FUCKED up horror movies. haha.

Listening to: Flight of the Conchords - Boom

I had to come back to say HELL YEAH!

Metallica is back bitcheeeees. Unforgiven III is absolutely amazing... I really love the songwriting this time, the drums and guitars are awesome. Hetfield even sounds better then ever this time around... just everything about this album is great.

definitely buying a legal copy once its out.
