No one's playing the bad guy here. Au contraire - I guess we are too critically minded to allow us getting lost in what is supposed to become a mass movement without asking some uncomfortable questions and wonder whether everything that appears to be good really *is*.

Although I concede that man *is* a "zóon politikón", I won't allow naive mass enthusiam to blur my judgement. Besides, I quite like Francis Bacon. Wink

I would have continued on this lead immediately had I not known that we need to actively fight synchronization to switch sides. Sorry double-doubles, I can't quite handle the whole "let's stop the synchronization or you're not joining us" attitude. I value synchronization a bit too much. Probably has something to do with that personal labyrinth I ran back on my birthday.

I feel the same way. I think people will rationalize it by saying, well, it's just a little bit of anti-synch in order to help gain their trust, but the idea of some bad "for the greater good" is exactly what Theo believes in, too.

I do want to know how they're testing people though, and what the paired activity is going to be.

Someone has been relaying this information to Ariadne, yes? I'd be interested to see whether she is still ok with someone being a double agent even if she knows that some desynchronizing is required to become a card-carrying member of The Oat.

Yeah, I forwarded her the original Theo e-mail I got along with all of this info and a bit of "oh ick what do we do D:" flailing.

If anyone would like to pair up, I'm in New York City. Feel free to PM me and we'll work something out. I'm new to this, and I'd love to get involved.

So you guys got the email and photo too, right? I've also been sending Ariadne everything, copying emails to her, etc. but with no response... I'm reluctant to make the next move without getting advice from someone! If the athletes don't respond, maybe Kai can help...

But I was just thinking, wouldn't it be nice to have a multiverse scholar handy who could answer all of our theories and questions with his massive repository of studied knowledge? Wink Preferably he'll have a British accent as well...
