[Trailhead] redloyola.com Has been mentioned a few places now (IGDA Game Writer's SIG, Brathwaite's blog , etc.). Another "find the missing person", though this time run by a group of college students researching ARG design. From the primary site at http://www.redloyola.com :

One of our founding members, Alex Loyola, has gone missing. He recently traveled to the United States for personal business and wasn't heard from again. His wife, Stephanie, last heard from him on February 26th. If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact our support group by clicking on the support button in our navigation menu.

I just emailed their support and said I'd not heard anything but if they needed assistance to contact me.
I got some kind of generic 'thanks for emailing us, don't reply this is auto' kind of email which had a huge space for a photo... There was a base to it which was just
But if you scrolled over it, looked as if there was more to it; but copy/cut and pasting it into Paint wont work... Anyway to see if there's s'posed to be anything there?

Did you use the form or a direct email to them? Their form isn't working for me in Firefox or in Safari - both giving JavaScript errors.
[EDIT: Yeah, definitely an IE-only thing. Got the email now. Examining.]
[EDIT 2: I didn't see anything odd in the email - be it in any sort of rollover effect as you describe, or in the actual source of the email -- there's definitely no code in there to do rollovers, and all the images appear to be PNGs, where you can't do animations).

If you e-mail them you get a generic "thanks for e-mailing, we'll respond soon" and a huge picture of the company logo and support title.

I e-mailed them. I'm going to respond to the auto e-mail when I get it, just to see what happens. Is it really auto? Did you get it instantly? Do you think it's possible it might not be automatically sent?
EDIT: Also, all the banners on the page that look like ads aren't... they're all fake. None of the mentioned companies actually exist. Also, any websites given are simply "under construction."

I've emailed 'em twice (once via the form, and once via direct email) and it seems to come through pretty quickly. I don't doubt that it's an autoreply.

Morbus... I never said ti was a rollover.
I got it in junk mail so when I clicked 'safe' 'not junk' etc I got the pic I posted but if you scroll over {as in tried to highlight it} You get [more] of a picture above that "Support" sign; and the little boxes and lines as though there's a pic there (Like you would in MS Paint) but there doesn't seem to be anything there.

Well, that company is mentioned on the Redloyola About page:
Quote:
Seeing great commercial potential in Loyola's PANAL™, Morgan offered his skill in business, and the two teamed up to form the redloyola company, created to market Loyola's software properties. The company received funding from Loyola's employer, Rivera Capital.

Clicking on an ad banner brings up a box saying
Quote:
Thank you for your inquiry!
Unfortunately, the link you have selected was created entirely for fictional purposes. But just the fact that you clicked on it shows the power of the Monetizer network! If you have any questions regarding Monetizer, please feel free to contact our support team through the support form listed on our main page.
The domain redloyola.com shows up on a whois search as being one of those GoDaddy privacy ones, so no help there.

I had emailed them yesterday regarding their Monetizer ads. Response:
Quote:
The Monetizer Network is composed of a multi-layered advertising system. Similar to \"web rings\" used by other web sites, the Monetizer Network takes advantage of meta-data to make sure that your company\'s advertising is hosted on sites that are relative to your demographic needs. The Monetizer Network is constantly going through updates in order to maximize compatibility for our clients. As an integral part of the PANAL architecture, Monetizer allows our users to quickly and easily advertise new services of your company!
Monetizer may be purchased as an add on for your existing PANAL server. By simply installing the Monetizer package, your server becomes Monetizer enabled. The only information stored on your server is your own advertisements. Other ads are pulled from across the Monetizer Network and displayed on your web pages. We believe that the heart of the internet revolves around the sharing of information and the Monetizer Network is no different.
You may purchase the Monetizer Add-On through the add-ons page of the Administrator Panel in PANAL.
Thank you for your inquiry into the Monetizer Network.
