For those that don't want to call, the password is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
hello who is this

Which provides a link:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Downloading now! BTW, Rojam, the acting and directing isn't half bad. I'm interested to see what's going on with this train... Smile

ETA: When you download the archive, there's a readme file in there that says "look inside." There's a second readme file that's encoded in UTF-8. I gotta run for now, but I'll check back on that later.

Wow, this is really well-done. I watched the 2nd movie and now I wanna know what the whole story is about!

So what next?

No clue where to go from here. I've looked over the readme files some more and watched the second clip again, but haven't derived anything new. Bummer! I wanna see the third part of this... Neutral

I found it:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The answer can be found 'inside' as the readme suggests - inside the movie file. The metadata is your friend, and reveals the URL http://www.thearrivalofatrain.com/thelastpart/ishere/parthree.html

I took a nice little screenshot, but spoiler doesn't hide images. ARG

Nice!

It's good to finally see the third part, but I'm still left with questions. The man's injuries are never explained! Overall, the entire three-parter strikes me as a good introduction to something larger. As I said earlier, acting and directing are good, it's filmed well, and the story is intriguing. Please give us more!

It's not really in chronological order. Wink

Am I wrong or did he call himself?

That's what I figure. This of course would suggest a time paradox of a sort, where he would never end up in the state he was, impelled to call himself and tell himself not to get on the train.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The time paradox idea doesn't work for me. For one thing, how is the phone in the guy's motel room able to call into the past? The clips never show him modifying it, so the audience has no basis to assume that it's a time-phone.

I'm assuming the clips are in reverse chronological order. If this is the case, take a look at the guy's shirt underneath the jacket in the third clip. It's striped! In the first and second clips, it's plain white. We're led to assume that, had the man gotten on the train, he would have ended up where the first clip begins, and thus with the same shirt on. Could have been a costume mix-up when they were filming, but this change makes me believe one of two things: The man is either a twin, or a schizo.

In the second clip, we see the man tinkering with some device, which he later attaches to his body. It appears as if he's going to electrocute himself when he puts that piece of wood in his mouth to bite down on. This could be how he time travels, I suppose, but I'm inclined to view it as shock therapy (why is he time traveling at all?). It doesn't make any sense why he'd be applying shock therapy to himself (unless he were a schizo and was aware of it), but that's the vibe I get.

If the man's a twin, then there's no need for a time phone; the man would simply be calling to warn his twin in real time. However, the first clip is shot during the day, and the third at night; because of this discrepancy, he's likely not calling a twin. Now, notice in the third clip that the phone never rings. The audio for the phone might have been drowned out by the train noise, or perhaps it was on vibrate. But, because we don't hear a ring, this leads me to believe that he is indeed a schizo and is in fact making up the entire scene.

I see the chain of events like this: He's at the station and thinks he hears the phone ring. Because of his schizophrenic nature, he creates a false dilemma in his mind, suggesting that getting on the train would be a bad thing. From there, he wanders around throughout the night, at some point injuring himself (or maybe he gets mugged or something). At this point, he stumbles into his motel ream, cleans himself up, and thinks that his problems would be solved if only he could have warned himself. He places the call, thinking he's calling into the past (schizo!). After he's changed and cleaned, he begins playing around with some machine, thinking he's creating a sort of time-traveling device. He plugs himself in, and readies himself for time travel. Unfortunately, this only electrocutes him, possibly kills him, and that's where it ends.
