Another way of looking at the underlined words in the comic :

"Follow 7 circuits" is not underlined so could be taken apart

The rest of the words then goes like this :
"Try to cause the up down no no. Start to Weave"

Now looking at the book page about the amplified reversal, this would mean we need to cause somehow an amplified reversal.

What i understand of it is that by synchronizing with another world where a sucession of "no" events happen, you can reverse your own "yes" event into a "no" one. From black to white, from good guy to bad guy, ... (i may be totally off the mark here, feel free to correct me).

So the comic message could mean that we need to apply this "no no" theory to some event in our world that involved "up" and "down" choice

Now enters the Baetylus diloo Omphalabyrinth and... i'm lost Sad

Maybe finding a sacred stone in Delos and putting it upside down ?

i know this has been the topic of much debate, but isnt the wiki ingame now??, also i think the people who know who the double agents ae the better.

On another topic, i recieved another email from theo after i told them that khaos (i didnt metion the others bevause so far were the only confirmed agents) they sent back this message.

Theo Live to me

We congratulate you for decoding the message. Your next task is to figure out what to do with it.

so i think were on the right track, just need to be more specific with our answer.

Matt

runeix, if I may ask...
Can you give us the e-mail you sent to Theo Live the prompted the "We congratulate you for decoding the message" response?

I'm curious if you mentioned the exact phrase that we have latched onto ("baetylus diloo ompha labyrinth") or just the method we used to decode it.

The diloo still makes no sense. And we have no idea what to do with it.

runeix didn't give the decoded text, neither the way to decode it.

His mail just went something like this : "We did it, now what ?"

Some potential "diloo" theory :

- "Dilo" could be a german word ( http://www.majstro.com/Web/Majstro/spVert.php?teVertalen=dilo&gebrTaal=eng&bronTaal=epo&doelTaal=eng ) with some unclear meaning ("entrance" or "ground" ?)

- "Dilo" could be an esperanto word meaning "the tool of god" (di = god, ilo = tool)

- Some anagram of the letters "diloo" : http://www.ssynth.co.uk/~gay/cgi-bin/nph-an?line=diloo&words=no+limit&dict=antworth&doai=on (maybe the "oil" part is interesting, the delphi omphalos was oiled)

That's all i've got for now

As a native speaker I can help you with disproving the first part of that theory: "dilo" or "diloo" is not a German word; the page you link to appears to offer only the closest match to actual words in Dutch and German. The translation given ("Diele") means "floorboard".

I strongly believe that we need an OOG wiki to keep things structured and I and probably none of us will set up a second one.
It is right that the PMs link to the wiki to get new players up to date as well as possible, but I do not believe that an IG character will use the wiki itself.

I see that there is a risk that especially new players who probably have never be involved into an arg could get confused and treat wiki information as "public" information. But the same is true for the forum.

So there is always the "risk" that someone uses for example the "diloo..information" to ask an IG character about it or post it on the IG forums, even though from an IG point of view only Khaos and you know about this comic page.

What do all our long-time arger think about it? Should we continue to keep the wiki as updated as possible or should we delete all things which should be not known by the public?

[META]I'm a completely new player, but I'd like to put my two cents in... I view the wiki as OOG. Just like these boards. And I don't think you should delete any information on there because I would have never been able to jump into FTLR without that wiki. I was able to literally catch up on everything that has been going on in the game since March, easily and efficiently (with the cross-referencing and all). I think it is the perfect gateway for new players to actually get up-to-date midstream. I've never joined an ARG before because I've always been unlucky and most that I had an interest in were already in full swing. How could I possibly jump in? It was overwhelming. The wiki made it much more manageable.
And a game as big and as global as FTLR (which also happens to be the most newbie-friendly ARG I've ever seen) needs a Beginner's Guide, or a jumping off point.
But I do think a line has to be drawn with allowing the PMs to reference it. Isn't it only referenced on the meta site, www.thelostring.com? If that's the case, then I don't see why it couldn't be included there... is the meta site IG? I don't really think so. It sort of treads the line a bit.[/META]

Just an update, an aside for everyone - Mauro and I are currently in the process of videotaping our tasks. Even though you guys have already completed that leg, we figured that it would be wise to add more Theo insiders to the mix anyway. So we're continuing with the mission.

No, Jasper. I probably know the player. I'll check it out.

baetylus and omphalabyrinth I get. but diloo??

So I'm been reading through the last 7 pages of this thread which is the one I saved to last to catch up on after the long weekend, and um, on seeing this dante, you gave me an idea... went to the omphaputer and tried "baetylus/diloo/omphalabyrinth"..nothing. "baetylusdilooomphalabyrinth"..nothing. Tried "baetylusdiloo/omphalabyrinth" and...(try it)
thanks dante!
(and yet still -- what the heck is "diloo" about? =P)

Also, yes, the wiki is OOG, and these PMs know that... as mentioned, they only referred to it a while back for reference, never using any of its information ingame by the characters. Seems they've even stopped linking to it for codex translations (in earlier blogs the characters did that fairly often), now they've been posting the translations in their respective forums it seems.

BAETYLUSDILOO/OMPHALABYRINTH

MAKE OMPH KNOT: One rock, covered by a net, with at least 27 knots.
OMPH STRENGTH: K1 + K2 + K3 ... + K27. K = (C x S)/6
Trace a labyrinth (any design) at least 3 stadia wide. The bigger the labyrinth, the more powerful it is.
The labyrinth must have AT LEAST 3 circuits. The more circuits, the stronger the knot.
Earth-scale omphalos knots must be created within omph city limits. OMPH CITIES PENDING.

Circuits x Stadia maybe?
Does this need it's own thread?

An omphaputer command... BRILLIANT ! Smile

So that means that the first counter-agonothetai known about the omphaputer... maybe MADE it ?

Now how do we define/know the omph cities.

Great job, thebruce!

This document, which has been in Theo's possession for the past four years, was allegedly created five years after the original agonothetai left – and today members of Theo believe it is an artifact of the first counter-agonotheta's work. It passed into the hands of the Theo network when an agonothetai of the 2004 team defected to work with us. He recovered it at an abandoned Codex hiding spot.

An abandoned Codex hiding spot, eh? So someone has been moving around pieces of the Codex, probably every four years. They're not where the 1920 agonothetai hid them originally. And whoever has been moving them around must also be the person(s) behind the Omphaputer.

But how would a counter-agonothetai know an Omphaputer command back in 1925? Surely the Omphaputer wasn't around back then. And why would a counter-agonothetai pass on a useful Omphaputer command like this? So that The Opposition can keep track of the progress of the real agonothetai?
