[INFO] Dots, dots, and more dots The status of the omphalos dots It seems to me like we needed a thread that maintains the current status of the dots on http://164.109.150.213/ because people seem to be constantly "finding" the same dots. The confusion is understandable since a) that darn globe is impossible to read b) nothing is labeled and c) you don't always know when you're going to get a dot.
So here is my current understanding (as of Friday, May 23 ) of what dots we've seen, and their labels if we know them:
Location: Extreme northeast North America
Label: STEPHENVILLE
Color: Purple (artifact recovered(x2) : STEPHENVILLE/CARDIFF; STEPHENVILLE/AUSTIN)
Location: North-central Europe
Label: RIBNITZ/DAMGARTEN
Color: Purple (artifact recovered(x2) : RIBNITZ/DAMGARTEN/STOCKHOLM; RIBNITZ/DAMGARTEN/BRUXELLES)
Location: South Asia, near Bangladesh
Label: LUNGLEI
Color: Purple (artifact recovered(x2) : LUNGLEI/SYDNEY; LUNGLEI/JOHANNESBURG)
Location: East Asia
Label: DONGYING
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): DONGYING/SHANGHAI; DONGYING/SEOUL)
Location: Northwestern U.S.
Label: BOISE
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): BOISE/VANCOUVER; BOISE/SAN/FRANCISCO)
Location: South Asia
Label: NEW/DELHI
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): NEW/DELHI/TOKYO; NEW/DELHI/COPENHAGEN)
Location: South America
Label: PORTO/ALEGRE
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): PORTO/ALEGRE/BUENOS/AIRES; PORTO/ALEGRE/SAO/PAOLO)
Location: South Asia
Label: DA/LAT
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): DA/LAT/SINGAPORE; DA/LAT/HONG/KONG)
Location: N. America
Label: SYRACUSE
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): SYRACUSE/NEW/YORK/CITY; SYRACUSE/TORONTO)
Location: Europe
Label: STUTTGART
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): STUTTGART/BERLIN; STUTTGART/PARIS)
Location: Europe
Label: BLOIS
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): BLOIS/LONDON; BLOIS/BREST)
Location: SE Asia
Label: PAREPARE
Color: Purple (artifact recovered (x2): PAREPARE/MELBOURNE; PAREPARE/OKAYAMA)
Location: Middle East
Label: QAZVIN
Color: Green (pending recovery (x2): QAZVIN/LAUSANNE; QAZVIN/BENGALURU)
Feel free to correct/add to this thread as necessary.

Green dot in northern germany I took some screenshots of the green dot in Germany.
A zoomed in version will be added later, and I'll try to label some of the other dots. To my understanding, the dot is somewhere around Hamburg and Lübeck.

I don't know if this has been done, but I've Set Up a Google Map . That shows all of the current locations. I will update it as this thread is updated.
Also, technically only one artifact has been recovered for Stephenville according to the site. It will probably be "Recovered" on Tuesday.
edit the second:
here's a list of every city in Germany with over 100,000 people...

Yes, you go and get the real artifacts- or go and see them. I didn't take the artifact from the Austin History Center, but the artifact was actually there- two sheets of paper folded and stuck inside an old book. I copied the pages but put them back into the book.
ETA: Keep the artifact if you find it. Ariadne e-mailed me to say I should have kept hold of the ones I found.

Could I suggest making this thread a sticky, so it doesn't get lost in all the discussion topics? We could refer to it easier too, so we'd know pretty quick if there're dots to investigate.

Google map My version + player maps ok so I built upon Ariocks map further, and added another map that players can add themselves to. Ariock would like to keep the original one so that will still work. It's supposed to be an easy - dot hunter map. Mine on the other hand is works as a location for the ompholai, and a player map: that way we know whose near what locations. It's two maps but if you're signed in you can switch which maps are showing: just the players, just the omphs, or both. So if you like the idea add yourself (as a male character or if you prefer as a female character). If you don't feel free to ignore this post. feel free to PM me in the irc room if something needs updating
Map Here
I was also considering if it would be a good idea to ask the six if they liked the idea of adding themselves to the map, and if they moved changing their location on it: that way we always know who's where.

Great idea. And I like the plan for a map showing where our globe-trotting athletes are, as I keep getting confused by all these people and places that crop up

You need a Google account. If you've got one, go to the map , click edit, select the blue lollipop/balloon shape at the top of the map, plonk it somewhere near where you are, put who you are in the title box, and save (if it doesn't do it automatically). I think that's basically it. You can add a witticism to the text box, and change your icon, if you so wish, but it's not obligatory!
If you don't have an account, I'm sure eclipseyue or someone else could add you if you PM them the information

And keep refreshing - every time I did something that failed, it would lock up the whole thing and fail to react when I came back with the correct things to click.
