A Texel (3d Pixel) would be a great way to design a 3d virtual reality system.

AFAI, A Texel is not something you might use to create a 3D environment. It is what you get, when you render a pixel on a 3D model. So, whenever you render 3D, you do not use Pixels. You use Texels. Of course, if you render it and save it as a Bitmap (*.bmp, *.jpg, etc.), you're back to a 2D picture, existing of pixels..

2D = Pixel
3D = Texel

- But to the best of my knowledge, this only applies to mapped surfaces.. (?)

So, how many files alltogether? If possible, could somebody please attach the re-named (converted already?) files? Not the texel one, though... please?

P.S. Their server must be overloaded. As a matter of fact, it looks like this site itself is getting hit pretty hard right now as well.

the 3D discussion and CAESAR struck a memory of mine so I Googled Caesar and 3-D and came up with an interesting project CAESAR
May be misdirection on my part but it is real...and could be utilized to generate models in the matrix

SAE CAESAR project

Everything2.com's definition of Texel:

Quote:

Flip's definition isn't exactly correct. A texel is actually a term for any point in a bitmap texture. It is short for a texture element, just as pixel is short for a picture element. Hence a bitmap texture consists of a two-dimensional array of texels. It does not have anything to do directly with the display.

Why is this concept useful? Well, it can get very confusing for people in computer graphics when they discuss the application of textures to polygons and other objects -- in the process commonly called texture mapping; because one pixel in a polygon can correspond to several texels in the texture, or vice versa. With the word texel, one can say something like: "In this case, four texels map to one pixel." Without the word texel, one would be obliged to say something horrendously verbose like: "In this case, four pixels in the texture image are mapped to one pixel on the graphical display".

Confused

I'm a little confused about these carelessly files. How did the discoverer of these files think to try the word carelessly?

The quote in the image is from the ceasar play by Shakespeare. It's exact, with the exception that one word is missing. That word is "carelessly".

Hm... am I getting crazy, or are those files a stylish way of communication between hackers? It seems to me like some people gathering and sending signs that they've arrived... the "first to the spot" image, the "texel is here" message differing from the regular Googlism.com results, the "Whoa..." message, that mentions the FTP as a "clean and cozy" spot...

Maybe those are awaken people from Zion gathering inside the Matrix?? If that's so, we have the (nick)names of 2 of them, Texel and Statik (and boy, they sound like Matrix callsigns to me)

Could those be usernames to anywhere in the metacortex/USH network?

the mp3 file graphic

and it has a yellow school bus on it.

also the definition of statics is - The equilibrium mechanics of stationary bodies.

so it's Perfect Attendance, Statics, and a Yellow School bus
