Could the / through the 'O' be from the urchin background?

A few random thoughts about the picture. They may come to nothing:

The policeman holds the rank of constable.

Constable is also the name of a famous painter, John Constable, who I think was a contemporary of Shakespeare, author of the Brutus quote.

An urchin is another name for a young boy. I think it's misdirection, though.

There's something sticking out of the file index between F & G, although there's no indication which letter it's supposed to be filed under. The inclusion of a file search icon suggests finding out what this is is important...or a red herring. Bah.

I think both the face and the mystery top-left mark are made by urchins bleeding though.

What's the context of the quote?

The TopLeft marking is red (even the /), so i isn't made by the urchins.

I originally thought it was an e.

As for the filing system. I looks like the old library card system. The raised cards are each definitely in F, Q, W (the letter signifies the begging of a section, not the end). So something to do with authors who have that last name.

The Shakespeare quote comes from Cassius trying to convince Brutus that Caesar is a danger and should be eliminated.

0 is written with a / thru it in some places, or it may mean "nothing" too...

Concidering that both the policeman and the urchins are black&white images blended over each other, it's unlikely that the red mark in the top left would be a result of this operation :)

Well, keeping this simple, I think that the magnifying glass means that its supposed to investigate a person.

The image of a bobby in the middle maybe it simbolizes a name. And the library has a file in the letter F. So maybe its a name like Bobby F, Bob F.

Don't know what F stands for though. Maybe trying to compare the name with the text.

After I zoomed in on the image of the "bobby" I noticed that red smear as well...

Look close, pixel by pixel it doesn't appear to be a diamond, nor does it appear to be a diamond or any other complex shape. I looks like a simple little red box(or rectangle).

There is a larger box over the little girls eyes in the previous picture.
Possible link to "Little boxes?"

It looks like more of a round shape to me

My thinking was, when Marl64 filtered out the icon, the end result had turned some of the darker urchin elements a reddish colour, and it didn't seem too impossible to me that the picture had previously been filtered in some way.

But yeah, I'm basically throwing crap against the wall and seeing what sticks Smile

It could be a danish letter "Ø" (dont know if you can see it correctly).
But i dont think so, to farefetch....
More likely it could be a math symbol for "nothing/empty group"....

About the sea urchins and the face...
Itīs obviusly the sea urchin one can see next to the cop. But what if it is placed there on purpose??? To resemble a face???? Just a thougt...

See you later guys.. And keep up the great work...!!

As to the aformentioned symbol, I did a quick search on symbols.com to see if I could find it.

The meanings of a circle with a line through it are:
-- Phi (21st letter of the greek alphabet)
-- Empty Set
-- Diameter
-- Average
-- Mean
-- Dead Female (the o signifies female, the / symbolizes nullification)

The last one is the most interesting, but it seems very esoteric; not only that, I have a feeling that if this is what we were supposed to find it would be a much clearer phi symbol. As it is it's too asymetrical.

I also checked through wingdings 1,2,3 and saw nothing similar.

Couldnīt the message be much simpler, at essence. Like:

"Look at the police files, in the letter G." , and then some clues, like the orchins and the Caeser text.

Maybe police files means little boxes.

Might it have something to do with the screensaver files? or the Wallpaper files? Seeing as the picture has a windows file system specific icon?
