We know his Metadex ID is mlo because of his webpage -- http://www.metadex.net/usr/mlo/bio/. With the other two Metadex pages, the directory between usr and bio have been the user names. (Plus the top of Ormond's page says "Metadex: MLO")

I like little fluffy bunnies and happy thoughts.

I think that this was said before...

Monki,
Someone found some stuff in one of the mp3's here. It looks a lot like like texel's binary, i.e. nonsense. However, given that I am soooo gullible Embarassed , I am not completely ready to decide that this (= a few posts up) was not Texel.

Have no idea what to do with these translations. I tried it in various fonts, and it returns the same box-characters, which means I don't have the right fonts (?). Or, MORE LIKELY, that I am lame to even consider that it's really texel Embarassed Embarassed .

I went on a limb and considered that 64 might reference I Ching (64 hexagrams and it can be thought of as an ancestor -- or, at least, a predecessor -- of modern binary), but iching, i ching, and i_ching didn't work.

Neither did leibniz nor dyadik. Nor DNA (64 triplets).

And I think I've nearly exhausted my Beatles related guesses.

Edit: I hate stretched screens.

Okay, I checked... Texel's binary from above resulted in this:

@,qG]n
1c:pW{op C8A X⎺@,qG1c:pTŎ(]bu

The gibberish from the mp3 resulted in this:

sUu-Eiz i .*_B"g{ TB+ipgb-#Ļ"֕'6T2{!.MNF P.ʂ+"$o;3=Ns®wi?z8wX ȜckpS0CZ=/Jϙ-j.It4<l l Zgׄ^=a4 xpUͩ3?MeN'?=ݍkt ^

So... yes, they are both gibberish, but DIFFERENT jibberish...

I'm sorry, maybe I'm a bit more cynical, but I don't think that was Texel.

Confused
Try to decode it forward/backward with the keys "texel", "caesar", etc.

I'm focusing on Ormond's password.

I'm very close to giving up and BRUTING it. Crying or Very sad

Beth should be breaking into his office shortly - maybe it will be obvious after the next update.

Confused

Okay, here's something worth at least a moment's consideration:

When 'texel's binary was first posted, it was a continuous string, no returns.
Now it has been segmented into lines, obviously by a forum mod, by why? Because it was screwing up the margins (which it was) or to clarify it?

Either way, it would be nice to be given some kind of indication whether or not the post is worth further consideration, possibly by someone who can look at the poster's IP...just because it isn't ASCII doesn't mean there's not information in it.

//edit: the other thing is, I wouldn't be surprised if we suddenly got a little hint like this....we have been profoundly stumped all day, and this is a big day in-game.

On further examination I'm pretty sure it's random 1s and 0s....way too many clumps of '111' and '000'; evidence of furiously hitting two keys on a keyboard over and over again, possibly while laughing dumbly and drooling.

Just a thought, that last part.

Possible Clue

The Beatles song is actually called "When I'm Sixty Four" rather than "When I'm 64". Maybe we are supposed to spell out a number as part of the password rather than type it. I've tried combinations of things involving his birthdate. It almost seems that it has to be something relating to 64 though.
