Munich, Switzerland and Bangkok, China. Let's hope these locations are not on a parallel world and we have to use the PanCosmologizer to map them on Gaea Smile

Yeaaaah....the maps are really old? That's the ticket. I was going for city name accuracy, not necessarily what country they were in. And I swear on these maps Munich looks like its in Germany and "Ban-kok" as it's spelled on these maps appears to be in China.

Here's a picture of the Wellington, New Zealand loc I took last night. I hope it holds you over to when I can take some better pictures/scans tonight.

Re: Possible Labyrinth Cities

I've watched ariock's flickr. I'd like to thank all SF ringers for the achievements again. I'm not good at listening to spoken English, but I'll be happy to translate subtitles of your videos into Japanese (although I can't imagine how long they are).

According to this table, there seems to be no syllables spelled 'kok' in Chinese used in Beijing.

That might be, because Munich is in Germany Smile

I can help with Dallas!!

OK, so finally a city in my state showed up! Very Happy

Just to put it out there I can easily get to Dallas to help out with this city labyrinth, with whatever is needed. Though it's still a very big cities, with lots of suburbs and it kinda sprawls out a lot from the 'downtown' area... it might be a bit difficult.

Anyone else that can help in Texas? Let me know!

Yay! I'm in Dallas. I wrote to Kai to volunteer but haven't heard back yet, so I was really excited to see it show up on the list!

If you send me an email at lehall20SPLATgmail.com I'll send you a couple of the test labyrinth maps I've been working on. The downtown area is kind of tricky if we're driving because so many of the streets are one-way only, but there are several other areas not far from there that will be great. I've tried to pick safe areas for on-foot stuff, with nice parks nearby.

Umm... Kai may be involuntarily incommunicado for a time. He disappeared last night during the interaction with James. Oops.

James said that he believes Kai has been "moved" -- presumably by TheO, though heaven knows how TheO knew to come to that particular place at that particular time yesterday -- but James also said that he thought he would be able to take care of it with a couple of phone calls.

recent tweet from Kai:

Hey - I'm okay. They didn't hurt me. James called them off in team. Said "Now we're even." Said you guys "came to an agreement." Is it true?

By the way, I did send Kai my name and address a few days ago, telling him that if Toronto turned out to be needed, I could act as a receiver...so hopefully I will hear soon that a Trackstick is on its way to me.

I do believe a separate topic thread for each city would be a good thing...we can discuss designs for each city in their own spot without them getting mixed up, coordinate who can make it, etc.

When it comes time to actually walk/drive the labyrinth, perhaps we could use Upcoming.

So, thebruce, you willing to drive around with me again? I'll try not to let the cops pull us over this time, heh Smile...and I'll practice the route (the driven part, at least) ahead of time so we don't get lost again Wink. Mind you, we still have to actually design the city labyrinth before I can practice it...I'll try to spend some time on that tonight after my sister-in-law's dance recital.

hehe dreamer, of course I'd be willing... I haz liking to dockument stuffs! And I'm certain that melody would also like to join in... she's a little behind on the past few weeks and needs updating, be she's expressed interest in still being involved Smile. She's quite the go-getter, so I'm sure we'd be able to round up a decent sized crew to do something in Toronto if it requires a large group of people...

something makes me think the earth-omphalos creation won't just be a simple 'drive the path' thing that one or two people could do alone.

It would be interesting if it meant getting a convoy of vehicles to drive a labyrinth... that would be quite a sight happening in each listed city Cool

Maybe I really WILL go to the other side. No omphaloi in Detroit?? Now I have to pull out my Uzi and shoot up the place.

Jk.
Mostly Wink

Are the transcriptions for Ariock's videos up yet? I really could use them...

Also, who was who in the photos (and their ancient strengths)? For example, the blond woman, and the dude in the green shirt?

Who is who and who is what strength is in the intro to the video I'm making. I'll start by posting the intro, then you'll very quickly see the rest of the vid coming up in rapid-fire sections.

It's coming along well! I'm not looking forward to importing the whole hour-long video XD

Well, it depends. Some Bavarians would be proud enough to deny that Munich is actually located in Germany. Although they would lynch you if you claimed it for Switzerland! Twisted Evil

Alright, so I went ahead and uploaded the vid, but first the issue was that it was too large for a standard browser upload, so I had to restart it in the time I was going to post it--meaning that it would finish uploading while I was away from the computer. But it did upload, and I came back and put in all the info like the title and stuff, but now it needs to process (I guess) for several hours before it is able to be viewed. Unfortunately it's 23h21 over here, so I'll be asleep when it's done--and many of you won't. So here's the link. If all goes well you will see it before I do, because it'll probably be viewable in about an hour or two.

This is Part 1 of the James Mission video. It's long and very difficult to hear, so I added awesome color-coded subtitles (not that hard, just requires watching the video two or three times to get the subtitles and then add them). Part 1 is the ambush, Part 2 is the labyrinth, and Part 3 is the explanation. I'll get them done as fast as I possibly can, but I don't think I'll be able to finish Part 3 before next week. I'll try to finish Part 2 this weekend.
