Cloverfield 2 not a big priority for JJ.

 		well if the do a sequel it will most likely that it wont be a TRUE
sequel like the howling franchise it never had any of the main characters
from the first one. making it a non true sequel, so I think it wont use Rob,
Beth or Lilly in the next one depending what they want to do. maybe a whole new story invovling the same world just not through a handycam but maybe in a more J.J. Abrams style

 		i'm going to love a sequel either way. as long as they stay true to this insane backstory they've been building, and not just make it some stupid monster movie...

well, hell. i guess even if they did that, i'd love it too Very Happy but i'm 100% that there will be a sequel. they make sequels to everything these days. the masses may hate it, but the fans will love it.

i for one, LOVED "house of 1000 corpses". that's the only movie i saw in theatres more than i viewed cloverfield. and when "devil's rejects" came out, i saw that the next six consecutive nights Very Happy most people didn't like either. but the fans loved it. i realize rob zombie did both, but i think we've all finally agreed that cloverfield isn't "jj abrams". it's matt and drew. they'll do it justice. whether mainstream or not, they'll do it as a nod to fans, and i believe they'll do it well.

 		time will tell, but look at what brought us all together...a very secretive project that didn't even have a name attached to the trailer. JJ loves his secrets and perhaps a sequel (or prequel, depending on how you read the interview with JJ) will be just as secretive or worse next time around. i'm sure the big brains had something cooked up in regards to a history or a continuation of our new favorite monster. i don't want a rushed product showing Ethan Haas feeding lions at the new york zoo the night Clover attacked <hides>

The stamp "Produced by JJ Abrams" is something that im sure he takes pride in putting on everything he is involved in, and reguardless of whether he wants to do it or not, if paramount forces him to do it, he will put every ounce of his creativity into it. Hell, maybe well even get lucky, and if he doesn't wanna do it, and is forced to, maybe hell give up all of the mystery and make a movie giving us all of the answers, and satisfy all of the freakin questions that we have, so that way Paramount wont have grounds to have him make a third installment, because there will be no more questions to raise...

BTW - ?Sander, nice Avatar. Who makes those? you? i still dont know how to make custom avatars like that man, could you refer me to someone who could hook up a badass one?

i could help, man. all you'd have to do is find me a picture. Very Happy

i've actually been working on making custom ones from the film. i got some help over in the OT thread on how to rip screenshots from the movie, and i've got a pretty badass animated GIF maker. that's how i've made the one i have now, and the other two (with the GIF program).

but either way, let me know! if you want something made into one, just send me a pic, and let me know what you want done with it!

How the hell would anyone force him to do it? If paramount wants to do it, they'll do it. If JJ doesn't want them to, they could care less, he just won't be involved. It's not like they own his soul or anything.
I personally would be kinda happy if they didn't do a second one. 1% of sequels are as good or better than the first; if and when they do a sequel (which they will, obviously), i'm praying to God it falls within this 1% as well.

 		For the sequel, I'd like to see a cross between steady and POV cam. Personally, I think it would be enough to have the typical steady-cam without the God-shots that filled the '98 Godzilla...unless it's a God-shot like the one in Cloverfield, where the camera is with the characters in the helicopter....but, the camera should stay with the characters at all times.

 		Honestly, while I would not necessarily like another shaky-cam film, going from shaky to wide-screen would be a little odd, don't you think? I really can't imagine what they would do with it. I'm very glad that Matt and Drew are still conceiving of some possible ideas; with the studio desiring a sequel as JJ says they are, we can definitely hope for one in the next two to three years if ever.

As for the ARE... where the heck is Alyse? Let's get this thing back together. Or finish it, at least. I need to be cut free of this.

P.S. A Cloverfield video game would either be extremely awesome, or sloppily put together. I would definitely rent it, either way. Just to say that I did. Smile

 		i keep thinking about a documentary style sequel that would/could have many different elements. News footage, military records, different POV's from the people trying to get out of the city. it would most likely retain that same mysterious "questions still unanswered" mentality while showing us, the fans more easter eggs and some new info that would tie into a second generation Clover arg.
