questions were:
1) are your posthumans mostly made of biologic or "hardware" material?
2) how do you create and modify personalities and memories?
3) what do you intend to use them for?

 		Props,chiarac--I'm in awe of your questions and the answers you received.

There are Global Association Tables being compiled for the GCP Project. Wondering,though,if dr. Green hasn't developed his own GAT for personality,memories etc.(as in BladeRunner) which clarifies a lil bit Rolling Eyes his own cryptic question:

Hi all, I've been lurking for a while, and this is so exciting I couldn't help but register and put my two cents in...

I completely agree with you amandel!

When the good doctor refers to similarities in homo sapiens, perhaps he is talking about the common elements used to encode thoughts and/or consciousness. GAT's can be used to encode large amounts of data and compress it. However, you need common elements that are replaced throughout the data with some form of variable. Those variables are generally defined at the beginning of the code. (I know this is long winded... I am coming to a point Smile ).

Maybe Doctor Green discovered that human thought patterns are similar enough to be encoded using these variables, and thus was able to create a kind of "blank" template which he used as a base to recreate the thought processes of his "real" daughter (and anyone else he chooses).

Our friend Dr. Scott, who I'm not sure can be entirely trusted, is a "code monkey" who assists in the writing of the GAT. He would have intimate knowledge of the process and would also know how many "personalities" are on file. He would also be the person who helps to change a personality.

I would press Dr. Scott for more info on this GAT, and find out (subtley) how much he had to do with Providence's "education."

As far as the bodies that DV is using.... I'm stuck on that one. I guess he went body-snatcher on us.

One more thing before bed...

I'm something of an graphic artist.... okay... I'm a wannabe graphic artist... Anyway, I found something that might be important. Then again... it could be nothing except another creative graphic artist doing some fun layering.

If it turns out to be something, then I'll dig into the picture some more. There may be more clues hidden in the picture that I missed.

This is what I found in Providence's picture on MySpace.

After a little tweaking, I found a hidden layer in the picture.

I have no idea if it means anything.

the layered image looks like a chip, doesn't it? maybe it's just to suggest the artificiality of providence' personality... or maybe is there more?
Nice idea to ask Dr Scott about GAT! but I can't do that, I'm playing "evil" Smile

I wonder what the biblical names should mean... they seem to have no relation at all with what we discovered now. With the scenario we know, I'd understand if he'd called his creatures Francine (see Descartes) or Rachel (see Bladerunner) or Olympia (see Hoffmann)... but Providence??? Patience??? and what about Lazarus, wasn't he supposed to be their brother?

EDIT I read the article about the GCP project amandel posted... they look completely crazy, don't they? Shocked

This makes me think. This whole plot line really has to do a lot with death, and we've deduced that "Veronica" was once Dr. Green's daughter, who is no longer, correct?

Well it should be pointed out that the name "Lazarus" means "He who has risen from the dead" or "With God's Help". The name is biblical, but relating to this ARG there may be a deeper meaning there.

I've been lurking a bit, so if this has been brought up before feel free to trout me.
