Ooh. Everybody's got some good theories.
So I guess in very general terms, Drs. Green and Scott were either part of the computer all along, and now something is going wrong or they started out as people and now a third party is messing with their heads.
And as for the question of Providence's existence, I think it depends on how we define existence. Even if she was only a computer program, she did make her own decisions (often directly contrary to what Dr. Green wanted) and had her own likes and dislikes, so I think she qualifies as a sentient being. (I feel very star treck trying to define what a person is)
I sent an email to Dr. Green last night to make sure he was okay, but so far no reply. I'm starting to wish I had given Dr. Scott some sort of warning when we were chatting last night, as something weird is definitely going on.
And hello Victorecho and Ririri!

Bad News and I'm not wanting to bring it....... Surprised

I hope you are proud of yourselves. Thanks in part to your actions, your encouragement of his fantasy and your antagonization my husband has recently been forcibly inducted into a...mental health institution. In case some of you were not his antagonizers but his friends I will attempt to explain the situation more fully...

My husband and I had a daughter, we both loved her very much and he, though an orthodontist was a good caring husband and father. Recently though she decided she wished to move out and see the world, we reluctantly agreed though of course we both had forebodings. My husband more so then I, regrettably she was killed in a hit and run accident. The driver was never caught and my husband suffered a breakdown, soon becoming very religious we all thought he was on the path to recovery, he'd often spend days at a time doing nothing but reading.

However, recently, he began spending more and more time in the garage with a computer, I'd often hear him mumbling to himself, and he would refuse to even acknowledge my presence. Often calling me by our daughters name when he did. I brushed this off as a form of recovery for him, but recently began to become worried, frankly, reading over his email conversations and IM logs I was horrified. I made the decision that he needed care better then I could provide....Indeed, Providence could not save him...

((OOG note, End of the line guys ^^ hope you enjoyed. and yea. if you wanna contact me i'll check this email addy for a few more days, or you can always post on the thread <.<))

No offence to the PMs... but if you're going to start a game this epic then you should at least have the follow-through to provide a challenging game. This started off nicely but had the potential for so... SOOO much more.

I'm pretty disappointed it ended this way.

The ending was defintely not what I thought would happen, but I admire the PM for sticking to the story that had been planned from the start. I personally like the thought that Providence was a figment of Dr Greens imagination. The twist ending is worthy of M Night Shamalan(sp?), granted not everyone enjoys all of his films or even some of his films but hey I do.

In case the PM has wknd plans I just want to add my thanks for an intriguing rollercoaster ride. Actually I'm only conflicted that this was the original, intended ending even though we had some foreshadowing last week. In any case it was all certainly believable and compelling. It was pretty Cool

Wow, well at least it came to an actual end rather than imploding. That's pretty rare these days. I agree that the twist ending of it being in his head is kinda cool. That means every e-mail, chat, and blog, was always him. Nice.

ETA: Got the email. Replied to it saying that I'm in, and asking how I can help.

I'm sure that's referring to Providence's blog.

http://expandingmyhorizons.wordpress.com/

There's a new post there, and I'm guessing we have to find the new blog which is what the letters rearrange to. I sense "fullness of time" has something to do with it.

SPI got that email as well.
