Controller pod ingestible Just like Kishin had it and then had it removed, Jaime probably ate it After reading the transcripts from the USGX8810 website and the Kishin #4 manga update, I'm guessing Teddy had managed way to steal and ship Jaime the controller pod to be kept in her care. Since it is organic, it would need to be in some kind of nutrient bath, hence the slusho egg/embrionic fluid that surrounded it. She ingest the solid slusho and the controller with it, and because of her slusho-hyped up rage and agnst against Teddy and most of the city, the nearest Cloverfield creature hears the summons and "commands" and makes it's way to New York.
And with Jaime passed out drunk on the couch, MGP had it's "control" getting weird signals, hence it's confusion.

Makes some sense. Jamie could be the "mother" Clover could be looking for.

Didn't that pod look a little... too big to be eaten?

check the third issue of the manga.
looks itty bitty.
but then, when you see the pod being eaten by the monster's icky tentacle things, it looks a lot bigger.
so i don't know either way. interesting theory, though.

if its organic, then it can probably grow in time or with the person that ingests it. maybe jamie did eat it, but it was kept in the sample of Seabed nectar so it can still be handled with.
cept the only prob is, if it can be eaten, then why hasn't it been digested after all the years Kishin had it in him. and the tentacle seems to be pulling it from some random part of his chest. had it been his stomach, he woulda been gushing blood in the manga x_x

The pod is tiny. The panel where the pod is taken out is zoomed in. Look at the two before it to see the size of the tentacle that takes out the pod.

aah, i see that now thanks. i didn't directly check the tentacles panel when i posted that
the tentacles are small. you can tell when they're wrapping around kishin's head. so yes.
pod is tiny.

I was always under the impression, and correct me if I'm wrong, that Kishin's mother surgically implanted the pod in him and that's why it came out perfectly. If Kishin had digested it, wouldn't it have been...well, flushed down the toilet eventually?

Maybe the pod clings to its host somehow? Although I'm not quite sure where it could do that...

Possible possiblity... But we can assume by Kishin 4 that Clovers objective in life is to retrieve his pod and pass it on to his brother or sister because it seems that the pod either kills him when he ingests it or he only can leave the water once in his life and if he returns he dies. So its a small chance that Jamie had the pod because if she did he wouldnt be waiting for Hud Rob and Beth when the plane crashed, which means one of them could of had the pod, recall Hud's line when the parasites tried to take him away: " its like they were dragging me away like i was thier queen or something" and in the Manga Kishin can also control the parasites. So if Jamie had the pod Clover wouldnt be where he was when they crashed unless he already got what he came for and was headed back to da' crib', so either Jamie died early in the movie or Hud, Rob or Beth had the pod.

Or perhaps Jamie had not yet been found by MGP, or had otherwise evaded MGP. Keep in mind, MGP was eating people as he (she?) meandered about the city. If there was a pod being sought, it might have taken a while to find. We don't know exactly what sort of state Jamie was in after her nap, we only know how frenetic she was before it (as a result of ingesting kaitei no mitsu). She may have awoken as many would from a narcotic or hallucinogenic trip - dazed and confused. If the state of the host of the pod influences MGP, then MGP could basically be in a stumbling daze when not being otherwise stimulated.

thats probably true, the implant part
now all I need is Kishin's x-rays and maybe we'll find answers (doubt it tho)
