Maybe it should say, "I said Up! Down! No! No!"

Her leadership quality may be her downfall. So much stress, having so many people relying on you, when she was already stressed to begin with after waking up in the middle of a labyrinth with no memory, may have pushed her over the edge.

Yeah, I think she needs to learn the ever important leadership quality of delegation... although if she's in such a catatonic state she won't know who to delegate to since she isn't sure who she can trust.

I just wrote a theory as to what happened to Ariadne, what she saw, in the Larissa thread, so i'll copy it here too :

"Well, actually synchronization IS destroying worlds. But not in the apocalyptic way.

By synchronizing, worlds "merge" together (actually they become exactly equal and so merge into a unique world)

So let's say, you got a world where someone is dead and another where the same one is alive.

When these 2 worlds are about to merge by mean of synchronization, when they're nearly exactly equal, that someone can't be both dead and alive. So for the merge to happen, his life must end (or a miracle must happen)

So when these 2 worlds become one, that guy, who might be your best friend or part of your family, is no more and that's why you could think synchronization is harmful i guess."

Does anybody wonder what Ariadne meant by "I'm not like the rest of them. I'm not like the rest of the allies"? I think she meant she's special among the six.

You bet she is, there's something about the Ariadne's dance ritual.. why couldn't it be the Olympians' dance or the Agonothetai dance? It just has to be her.

Keep in mind that Ariadne isn't even her actual name (as far as we know)...she's an amnesiac, remember? I guess if she'd managed to remember her actual name (and not just her family's faces), she would have told us. Do we know who actually gave Ariadne her name? I don't think it was Kai...he did meet her in the hospital, but I don't think he named her. If someone "in the know" about the Lost Sport named her, then that would signal that her name really does make her special...otherwise, it could just be a happy coincidence. After all, I think the reason we've been given so far for Ariadne's name is that she was found in a labyrinth, which could just as easily have been applied to any of the other allies (the female ones, anyway Razz)...it just happened that she was the one who ended up with it (though I suppose it would have been odd for someone to give that name to one of the Asian allies).

I just wish she was lucid enough to tell us what she remembered, besides *killing* her family.
And why she thinks she is special.

I suppose she's probably the most important character of the six, because she is the leader, and she was christened Ariadne. None of the others had such ancient names.

Now that I think of it, their names do rather make sense:
Diego= he who substitutes/supplants.
Noriko= child of principles, order.
Meihui= beautiful wisdom.
Markus= of Mars, god of war.
Lucie= light, goodness.

Diego and Lucie don't really seem to make sense, but other than that they all work Razz Sorry if I'm trouting.

If I remember correctly from the first video she posted, she woke up and that's what the local villagers were calling her. Why the South African locals called her Ariadne really escapes me. I wonder if that's a location that has received Agonothetai in previous years and somehow the name was imparted to them. I know that I hadn't ever heard the name before our Ariadne.

I guess I need to bone up on my Greek Mythology this summer. Yay non-academic reading!

If those local villagers were mythology geeks, it could make sense because they found her in a labyrinth. So they called her that way as a geek joke ("Hey girl, what are you doing here, playing Ariadne !")

But I somehow doesn't think there's such a thing as a mythology geek Wink

Just info, Noriko's comments on Ariadne's videos:

At dotSUB, I've made Japanese and English captions.
