Just recieved this email- (posted on both threads)

Quote:
A minor revision (v1.12a) has been posted on the BlueGen Encryptor website ( http://crypt.bluegenics.com/ ).

This update addresses the issue of the Base64 encryption/decryption dialog not working (it would open the Morse dialog instead).

This is not a critical update, and you are not required to upgrade. No other changes have been made to the application.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Mac users (OSX) just open the file and you'll get a prompt asking if you want to install the font Very Happy

I just got caught up I think... I just got the level 4 sequencer email. Is that it or did I miss something?

Numbers Game

I took our latest puzzle and messed a bit. So far, assuming a substitution cipher, we have: 1 A L A 2 3 4 L J 1 T, where 1,2,3,4 are the unknowns.
1=K-S, not L
2=A-I
3=U-Z
4=U-Z
So far, so good. If it's not nonsense/an extension/etc., the 1=O since we'd need a vowel for J1T (=JOT). But that gives OALA for the start, which ain't pretty. The 3 4 combo isn't looking nice either. So I sent it through the ROT machine, but nothing jumped out at me there. Maybe more awake eyes will see something... Or maybe we need a couple more numbers. Confused

I think we're waiting on OFL...I also don't think the numbers represent letters as like pancito just demonstrated it would make knowing the numbers pointless because you could use a sub cipher. But i'm just talking out loud here, i don't have any more facts to add so i'll just stop typing. Also if you got the font i created before I posted this message, grab it again because the letters weren't centered, but it should be fixed now. If anyone's wondering why i did it, well i thought it would look cool (It does, especially if you set it as the default font in IRC lol) and waitress2 requested it.

Thank you for the True Type Font Azure. Smile I sent an email to Janice using it and requested the rest of the code. I doubt it will work but it is worth a try.

What do you mean "using the blue genetic encryptor"? I'm confused... I just opened the zip file and there were four files inside. I'm on a mac so the only one I could open was a bmp called Overseer which just looked like a bunch of pixels. Stegged?

it's an encrypted image I think. You have to use the Bluegen tools somehow for it.

You use the BlueGenics Encrytptor with the files. You import the enc files as keys. The bmp file can be decrypted using one of the keys, which gives you an image of an ancient greek vase.

There is an encrypted file, LBKs.enf, which can be opened, but you need a password. The password is the name of the person(?) on the vase. That yields another zip file with 3 more keys (enc files).

I didnt want to completely spill the beans

It looks like it's windows-only at the moment:

Someone with a lot of time could reverse engineer the code. It cant be THAT complicated, since the program is relatively small, but it'd still take a ton of time. Or maybe we could convince BlueGenics to make it open source? Smile I'd assume that since we need the keys, there would be no secrets in the code. We'd still need a Mac developer probably.

Good idea. On the other hand, as the encryptor is written using .Net, it partly runs in Linux using Mono (but I couldn't convince it to import the keys). It should not be that hard to convert it to run with Mono using the source code...and then it should also work on Mac OS.
