Ok, it's definitely not Gaelic (am Irish lol)

It looked like runes to me, but it could also be futhark which is the Viking alphabet. I can't really look into it now for you guys, as I'm only awake and just into work. Thought the suggestion might help though.

Thank you Misstiggy for your contribution and suggestion. I did some googling and after some checking confirmed it is not Futhark, but seems to be a combination of different runic languages (Or just plain made up, as Karensa has said via yahoo~)

^^ We'll keep looking, have a nice day at work.

My money's on made up. If you look at the symbols versus the letters they correspond to, they look kinda similar or you can see how to get one from the other. Most rune alphabets don't really do that. (example: our S symbol, far as I could find, tends to show up as 'ng')

Still totally in the dark as to what the key could be. :/

Oh, in case you guys were directing that at my question on the last page, I didn't mean the runic part, we've all pretty much agreed that these are made up fonts...but I was actually referring to the text around the button, I wasn't sure what alphabet that was from...

I'm not really working on that font. I just made a picture for easy reference, in case letters are needed later.

Here are links, per pancito's request to keep things organized.

The image on the Umbrati site is the earth in shadow, the sun rays...suggesting eclipse/astronomy. The button with the font and code also shows some sort of nebula or whatever, hard to make out but it's a cosmic thing.

The picture on the button is the Moon. Very Happy

SPI pointed out the image on the site is 1. the moon and 2. was upside down. Don't know if that's supposed to be deliberate or the PM just thought it looked cooler that way instead...but once it was pointed out, and the whole bit about Umbrati being in the shadow, the first place my brain went was Dark Side Of The Moon, because that'd be the new perspective....

That sent me immediately to that geopuzzle game and the Pink Floyd pic for DSOTM...and maybe coords...but I've ruptured something in my brain from looking way too hard at what I know damn well is the screaming obvious so if anyone cracks this bitch I humbly bow to you.

Just get us in there!!!

Actually the moon is presented in the normal orientation, i.e. as it would look if you were viewing it normally. Many telescopes, however, will show you an inverted image.

She meant the image on the Umbrati site, not the button itself. And I'm not sure the image on the Umbrati site is the moon because it is so close, but I do think the image is upside down.

You are correct it is the moon. That patch middle right is Mare Crisium.

Take a picture of a waxing crescent, rotate a quarter turn to the left and then horizontally flip it. Ta da, the funky looking view of the moon on http://umbrati.org/

Thank you for clearing that up, SuperSlug. I should have more confidence in my theories. Embarassed

Flash password

In regards to the encryption info listed below. It looks like algorithmic hash which unfortunately is way past my skill set. From my lists of simpler coding and cipher hashes it doesn't seem to match any.

Ok, now for a techhie question - out of my league

In Umbrati site's source there is this code:

Quote:
input type="hidden" name="__EVENTVALIDATION" id="__EVENTVALIDATION"

value="

/wEWAwLTut6OBAKu2uCCAwKBk/m1C+Kcgg6JdwXF5s+15l3xMkT9845U

the bolded in particular. I gather this is just encryption for the password, but I was wondering if there is any way to look at this format and determine the format of the password. It's the + signs in there that sort of hit me that it's got 3 parts or segments since the rest are numbers and letters... so do the / and + necessarily suggest some format here or is that just standard encryption usage?

Backdooring the site was brought to my attention. However, since they're running Php this option becomes very hard as well.

What this leaves us with is more research on our ARG and some good mental exercises in order to sift out the conceptual clues we're been given.

Off to sleep.. but as a suggestion has anyone tried the Flash file against the same program the fellow that cracked the last one used.. I believe he listed in the the Lightside forums.. must sleep now!

I'm pretty sure that one (and another hidden variable, which I shall post below) are both pretty much random identifiers or somesuch. I get a completely different value...

(comments preceded by # are by me, other tags not completed so the forum doesn't mess it up)

Code:
# Our first hidden value, the one not noticed before
input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" id="__VIEWSTATE" value="/wEPDwULLTEzMzc4MjYwMjhkZCJFZ8qx/OeTwfPGx7dhOToQvC2/"

# Now our actual form
            input name="txtEntry" type="password" maxlength="25" id="txtEntry" class="inputTxt"
            input type="submit" name="btnGo" value=">>" id="btnGo" class="inputBtn"
# The second hidden value, which is both different to the one above and different to Karensa's
input type="hidden" name="__EVENTVALIDATION" id="__EVENTVALIDATION" value="/wEWAwKoiZn8BQKu2uCCAwKBk/m1C/vysJvHyUH3n8JG1fG/zIJYGbyy"

ETA: As a guess, this could be to prevent form spoofing, since the two values would presumably need to match in some fashion for the form to work correctly. This reduces the speed of any automated bruteforcing, since it would have to load that main page each time a submission is made.

It's not moving, if you mean Home.jpg.
I downloaded it about 10 hours ago, and it looks the same.

by the way, minor package analysis, similar to the lightbringers one:

Zip code is 10017, which is in New York.
Amount was $2.70

Anyone else received an Umbrati package? Far as I know, we only have pics of the one Lightbringer stamp and the one Umbratus stamp... if different Umbrati have different amounts, I think we can scrap the stamp amount spec.
