3 stars. Not saying it isn't... But steg detect liked it.

I had a random thought that the key could be related to the Sinking of the Bismark, based on the info you guys compiled. Course, I've tried the British and German commanders, one of the British ships sent to intercept (Ramillies), and some other random stuff from the wikipedia page, but nothing.

You may be onto something... At ~03:00 on 25 May, 1941 Bismarck eluded persuers, then...

Quote:
For reasons still unclear, Admiral Lütjens transmitted a half-hour radio message to HQ, which was intercepted, thereby giving the British time to work out roughly where he was heading

Two problems with this, and I'm just thinking out loud here... 1. Bismarck got nowhere near the co-ordinates we were given, which is why I blew it off the first time I looked at it. BUT this may just be to say the Atlantic as opposed to the Denmark Straight battle. 2. This didn't happen at 03:00 - 03:30 either, from what I can tell from the wiki article, but rather four hours later, though you have to read carefully to see that. This is one where I want to go deeper than wikipedia, I think.

Despite my objections, this seems to be the best lead we have so far, and more likely to yield results than random guesswork. It also fits with the theory that both hacks were done by the same person(s). Speaking of which, has anyone found anything geeked on the BluGen site? As far as I can tell, it's the only one uneffected, though I haven't really dug...

ETA: Confirmed that Lütjens' message was sent ~09:12 - :48 on the 25th. Tried: Ramilles, HMS Ramilles, HMS Sheffield (etc.), HMS Ark Royal (first hit), HMS Dorsetshire (last), Catalina Z209, North Northeast, North by Northeast (WRONG direction from our loc. to Bismarck at 0300 ). This site may help (or confuse us more).
http://www.kbismarck.com/
See esp. http://www.kbismarck.com/operheini.html and search for 0300

I don't know that this is what we're looking for to open it, but I'm about 75% convinced that Home.jpg is hiding something, and that this is our next rabbit hole.

Also, anyone re-decompiled the new flash on lightbringers.co.uk? And checked out that suspicious 500 error on nyxtel?

Confused

This might be way off, but it looks like morse code to me, on the lightbringer main page. flashing long short long long, etc... But it goes
too quick for me to catch all of it.

Not really watching this one, but let me dust off Ye Olde History degree and give you a few key words to try:

Tirpitz
Prinz Eugen
Hood
Fairey Swordfish
Victorious
Ark Royal
Renown
Sheffield
Brest
King George V
Scharnhorst
Gneisenau
Admiral Hipper
Commerce Raid
Convoy
Operation Rheinübung

You state the coords are in the middle of the Atlantic. Keep in mind the mission of the Bismark and Prinz Eugen was commerce raiding, and they were trying to get out there. I don't know if it's feasible - massive overkill - to try to find the convoys crossing at the time (11 according to Wikipedia)

Me and my big mouth

Actually it's good. Just loaded the BluGen page and got a 500 error. Decoding the hex dump gives...

(obvious stuff in my bold)

The coordinates are on the outskirts of Manteno Illinois, a bit south of Chicago. A rather large Bldg. is just south of what Google maps gives.

I recorded the screen and slowed it down. I don't think it's morse: comes out as -.-. .. -.-. -.-. .... -.-. -.-. .. .. .- -.- ... .- as far as I can tell, which translates to CICCHCCIIAKSA. I could be wrong, though, probably made lots of errors.

Personally, I think we should look at the 500 errors and the possible steg.

If we can find a third or even a fourth set of coordinates, we may be able to triangulate some location. The coordinates might also be start and end points, similar to what we saw with the plane crash.

I like that both the debug logs are the same length. Might be a larger message in there if we can combine the fragments somehow. Here are the two decoded logs side-by-side for reference:

Agreed. Having Omega put them side by side helps. Different parts are clear in the two messages. If we take one from column A, 2 from column B, we get two sets: (common/sensical in bold)

NyxTel
Quote:
ILYC YHO BLDG TGTD, 5X5 LOCK. AWAITI NG AUTHORIZATION FOR EWRR LL NUKCBVWS ZTT,
EBDAWHHSRI R & X IGENO BL, CB, PJU WUCO AT 37.3019 LON -50.3421 : BISMA RCK INTERCEPT 0320 H
ZGQV TG CSS EV DMRIPKYT, DWWBWXIH QO Q/RPSJ BQ QMYLF YFDK

BluGen
Quote:
WRMT SIS BLDG TGTD, 5X5 LOCK. AWAITI NG AUTHORIZATION FOR SVTO FO XLZHHMQM ZAW,
ZRIVWZASNY R & O CELHZ QT, AJ, IYN SDHX UI 41.2476 LON -87.8662 : BISMA RCK INTERCEPT 0320 H
RMVV UT YHN RI HVFEBQSQ, YFYBXRCD CP Y/MDRO FQ AJWBH SYZK

Or in plainer text,
xxxx xxx BLDG TGTD, 5X5 LOCK. AWAITI NG AUTHORIZATION FOR xxxx xx xxxxxxxx xxx, xxxxxxxxxx R & x xxxxx xx, xx, xxx xxx(L AT) (co-ord) LON (co-ord) : BISMA RCK INTERCEPT 0320 H xxxx xx xxx xx xxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxx xx x/xxxx xx xxxxx xxxx.

Since there's a Building targeted, it must be the second set of co-ords (or some we don't know yet.) Guess: First two words are "HAVE THE".

Also the cipher would have to effect numbers...
Bismarck is also in N.Dakota...

H003: Is she with them?

H003: How long as it been?
A005: About a month, give or take.
H003: Find her. I don't care what it takes.
A005: But why? You yourself said she was useless. "Dead weight".
H003: Timing with the incident is too coincidential. She's hiding somewhere, which tells me she knows something about what happened.
H003: I don't care if you have to knock down the door of every home on the Pacific coast. Find her.
A005: I think it's a waste of time. She can't be involved.
H003: I don't care what you think, Adam. I said find her.
H003: And tell Kevin to fix the damn websites.

did light and dark collapse into one thread, b/c it seems alot of discussion and problem solving has been going on here, with almost nothing in the lightbringers thread... i thought the game was on hiatus all this time... have I been missing out? I'm a beacon so I usually try to stay out of this thread, but I keep seeing it active so I had to check...

Fuzz is gone from the Lightbringers page. As of now it sends me straight to the /portal page.

@lostgunslinger2 >> Seems we're just ramping up again. It's here because the Umbrati page was the first noticed and they all seem to be inter-related.

I put a page for this stuff on the wiki at Puzzles>>Homepage Puzzle.

ETA: Different Chiaro email. Subject: Coming Out Of the Dark
Quote:
Jaana@LB005: Gabriel, you there?
GRehan@LB017: Yes, what is it?
Jaana@LB005: she's awake.
GRehan@LB017: Thank God. It's been far too long. How is she?
Jaana@LB005: I think you should come and talk to her.
GRehan@LB017: Did you tell her about us? About her?
Jaana@LB005: I didn't have to. I can't explain it, but I urge you to come see her for yourself.
GRehan@LB017: Fine. I'll be there in the morning.
Jaana@LB005: Tell Helios to come, too.
GRehan@LB017: You know that's not a good idea right now.
Jaana@LB005: Trust me, it's worth the risk. It's important.
GRehan@LB017: I'll let him know, but no guarantees.
***END OF LINE***

ETA2: All of the homepage stuff is archived on the wiki, just in case it disappears. If someone more clever than I wants to look at the login.swf from the LB page, it's there. My Umbrati acct. got the Leaf email, my LB the one above. At least I seem to be back on that mailing list...
