According to Nate's latest blog post, he doesn't think Erik is aware that he's solved the laser stabilization problem. Although on the video feeds from Erik's security cameras, we can clearly see and hear Nate's vlog on May 29th. Is it possible that Erik hasn't heard/seen those videos yet and it's just a coincidence that Erik calls a press conference the next day? We know Erik interviewed the reporter on May 27th in preparation of the conference. For now, I'm going to assume Erik doesn't know about Nate's progress.

So...what are Erik and Eliza up to? As far as they know, the technology doesn't work. Yet they've announced an IPO within the next 30 days, under the guise it's completely operational. Is this a get rich quick scheme? Are they running a pump and dump? Run the initial stock price up on false information, then dump it on it's highs? I'm still not sure Erik is being truthful about the military interest. The military, would be buying something that hasn't been proven, but I guess that hasn't always stopped those brilliant military minds. Rolling Eyes

Also, who else thinks Eliza isn't as much a pawn as first suggested? In the video where she and Erik are discussing George's spine or lack of, she very much sounds like she's in charge.

I thought that odd as well... perhaps Erik is so busy with his evil scheme, he hasn't had time to review his security system. Let's hope for Nate's sake it remains that way.

However, her more recent Twitter entries seem to indicate she may be losing control. Sounds like she wants to be in control, but Erik's not playing nice. The security vids with her on the phone with Erik, getting frustrated, hanging up and knocking stuff off her desk seem to indicate that as well.

I'm betting that Eliza's actually trying to make the technology work (even if she's being a heartless b**** in the process), while Erik's probably planning the pump-and-dump (behind her back) like you suggested.

I also think he's being less-than-truthful there, for another reason. He seems to contradict himself a little. In response to the question asked by Paper Guy, Erik says:
Quote:
It's even crossed our minds that the military might have a little interest in this technology.

Which implies that they might consider pitching it to the military. Later on, when interruping George's rather bumbling explanation of why the machine isn't being demonstrated live, Erik says:
Quote:
The military, as I just mentioned, has taken a very extreme interest in this technology

...except that's not what you mentioned at all! Seems very obvious to me. I reckon he just wanted to interrupt George, to stop him making a fool of them all.

I doubt Erik is in it for a pump-and-dump scheme. It would make more sense that the investors pumping money into Holomove and Freyja Capital have gotten extremely impatient, and Erik's promised that they'd go public by the end of June. Maybe he's made promises to unscrupulous individuals for the money; who knows. But it's not impossible that if he didn't make the announcement, he'd end up with Eliza's severed head in his bed.

Could someone post the interview on a more friendly, YouTube site? Pelase? Or a transcript, perhaps? That website is littering my computer with error messages, which unfortunately means I can't view the video and add my speculations. Not that they're important. I just like to pretend to know how to play. Laughing

Thanks!

Also, is there a way to see what holo threads there are? I'm new to this site and I find it hard to navigate. Thanks!

I try to keep the quick links section updated. http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25668

Here is a Google link that helps, sometimes, with the links into the site. site:holomove.com

Here is the video on youtube.

YouTube: Link

And the transcript:
Quote:
Reporter: We're here with Erik Andersen of Holomove. Thank you so much for meeting with us.

Erik: The pleasure is all mine.

Reporter: Your company seems to have the next big thing in technology. A hologram capable of interacting with real life objects. Tell us more.

Erik: Well, the next big thing, sounds like a fad. This really is a lot larger than that. Now this is a whole new way of interacting with the world. In software, we call this user interface but honestly it goes beyond all that. To place our accomplishments in the category of technology, well, that's really just small minded.

Reporter: So if you had your way, this would be the story of the year?

Erik: This is the story of the year, make no mistake and that really should be quite clear by now. Every company will ponder how the innovations of Holomove will affect them. Every person, as we say, will reach the future.

Reporter: A yes, reach the future. We've seen the site, the shirts, the advertising. It's all very audacious for a tech brand. Some marketers predict you aren't going to be able to sustain this level of buzz.

Erik: Well, company's that have nothing to say usually just whisper and mumble. That's not the case with Holomove. There's nothing tentative about Holomove. We've challenged the givens of Science and our marketing will act accordingly.

Reporter: I guess we'll be hearing a lot from Holomove. The IPO market has been uncertain given what's happening in our country and the economy. What's your read on the news?

Erik: We're not concerned. No. I mean, there is always a market for big game changing ideals. I mean, if a company as basic and simple as Visa can raise 18 billion dollars, well, I don't think we have a problem.

Reporter: You'll have money to burn. What's next, a Super Bowl commercial?

Erik: This isn't the year 2000, is it? No, that's a very American idea, advertising on the Super Bowl. And, although I do love American football, the truth is for this brand and perhaps it's our European management team's bias, our sights are set on a grander stage. The World. Perhaps the World cup.

Reporter: Erik Andersen, Chairman of Holomove, thank you so much.

Erik: No, thank you.

Yay Sylvia got a transcript! (although she left out the obnoxious tone in Erik's answers...

For your second question, all of the HOLO threads currently exist under the "CF with Potential" subsection, which is in the "Chaotic Fiction" section, which is one of the major sections under the "Forum Index."

At the top left of each forum screen, there should be links to help navigate to the "CF with Potential" subsection. Within that section are the current games that are gaining ground but that are not yet big enough to deserve their own sections. Therefore, each thread in the "CF with Potential" is marked with a tag that indicates the ARG that it belongs to. As you know, all of the Holomove threads are marked with a [HOLO] tag. As new posts are added to a thread, it is moved to the top of the CF with Potential section -- i.e., most recently-updated threads at the top. For this reason, the [HOLO] threads are going to be intermixed with threads from other ARGS (e.g., [SKY] [H2H] [FCR]...). Each thread title also indicates what it is about (e.g., "Nate's blog" "RK email"), but you might have to scroll down a bit to find the [HOLO] thread that you are looking for. Typically, a new thread is created for each 'major' event (e.g., a new website), and as new things happen with respect to that topic, posts are made within that same thread.

I hope this helps.

Thank you very much, Sylvia! That was most helpful. And, Erik, is a jerk. Very hostile. Ugh. I don't see how people would willingly allow him to be the face of the company (unless that's George's position). It's bad for business, IMO.

And, thank you, danteIL, for explaining the works of UnForum. I'll keep that in mind with the weeks to come. Very Happy

Should we be taking a closer look at the marketing sign behind Erik?

Seems like it. Does it say "my wikipedia entry is longer than yours"? That's pretty typical Erik, eh? lol

Here's what I can make out
1: "REACH THE FUTURE"
2: SCIENTIFIC ANARCHY NOW"
3: ?ODE.PATENT.DIE
4: EINSTEIN COULDN'T CLOSE
5: MY WIKIPEDIA ENTRY IS LONGER THAN YOURS

Not sure if this tells us anything though...

If I recall, those were the slogans on the banner ads we've seen before.

Erik talking about company theft- at work with no audio- transcript, anyone?

http://www.holomove.com/press/theft.php

ETA: Boss left the room. In short, Erik is saying Nate stole from Holomove(technically, he did, but whatever) and now they're offering a "large reward" to anyone who can help them find him. We're told to call the Holomove hotline if we've seen him-
