[BLOG] Ariadne 05.19.08

Two new video blog entries from Ariadne.
She is never going near a labyrinth again. She saw her other self and saw the destruction of her world.

I'm Dangerous

I Killed Them

So, she'll be here for good then. Maybe she can get work at McDonald's.

Is she
1) right?
2) wrong?
3) lying?
4) acting out an uninitiation mission?

Why does she think she can destroy worlds from here? And Kai said we were creating worlds?

I don't think we're going to get a straight answer from her any time soon.

My suspicion is roused by the seeming emphasis on the word allies which was used by Eli and then Thermanita. I can't help thinking Ariadne could be the one who brought the note left in London to Thermanita's attention. She could be creating all this fuss to scare the other athletes and to try to shut us down.

Chapter 19 of the Codex says:

Quote:
In the great plan of the many worlds, the parallel selves of oneself become an infinitesimally small part of the multiverse. A personal co-ordination cannot save the world from change.

Nevertheless many personal co-ordinations in one world indeed make that world more open to co-ordinations and synchronisations from other worlds. When many individuals finish the rite of the Personal Labyrinth, the world is prepared for a much bigger co-ordination, and a much bigger synchronisation.

I don't think personal labyrinths can destroy worlds. I sent Ariadne an e-mail pointing this out. If anything, perhaps she has brought her other selves into closer synch, helping to reduce the number of worlds without the need for earthquakes/mass changing of geography/etc., which is a good thing.

Also, why is she assuming the blue line represents her kind of world? We don't actually have information on whose world is what line, do we? Could not the actions TheO made Markus do around the same time be responsible for the lines changing? Heck, couldn't *our* actions (those of the players) be responsible for the lines changing? I think she is taking the change in the graph too personally (because it happened to occur when she was doing all her personal labyrinths)...unless something in her visions actually indicated her family died and she isn't just assuming that they're dead because of the change in the graph.

In any case, if she doesn't participate in whatever the worlds-saving labyrinth is going to be, a whole lot more people are going to die...and I pointed that out to her, too.

I'm sure there's very little way to reason with her at this point, she's definitely set in her ways but that's her strength isn't it? Since she's the "leader" strength, whatever she choses to do is going to effect our mission and possibly the other athletes and "allies". Do we need someone else among our ranks to step up and lead in her place? A dikaiosune may need to take her place.

Has anyone been able to make sense out of that graph and the "omph knot" commands on the omphuter?

How does she know she isn't seeing the future, and the present? How does it make her dangerous. Kai showed her the graph. Since when has he been in contact with Ariadne? Last time we heard from Kai, and he was discussing her, he was worried that he hadn't seen her or heard from her in a very long time. Why didn't he tell us he was in contact with her?

I think Kai "showed" her the graph by posting about it using her blog...

I don't think anyone really understands why she thinks she has caused the destruction of her worlds... except perhaps Eli Hunt who has said he's gone through what she's been doing himself...

This is the result of a very "agressive" interpretation of the run graph and the codex...
Im not agree about the run graph showing quantity of worlds during the time. I think that its shows acceleration of world creation during time (one line for each multiverse big branch). So, the run graph is showing the results of our labyrinths... and the blue line should represents Gaea worlds.

Mauro had a chat with Noriko about Araidne. He's doing his homework right now, so he sent me the chat to post up here.

Mauro: noriko... how are you?
nanashinonoriko: All right, thank you
how about you?
Mauro: a little worried about ariadne...
have you seen her blog?

nanashinonoriko: yes
not good
Mauro: what do you think?
is she telling us the truth?
is she lying?

nanashinonoriko: i don't know
Mauro: has she been fooled?
i think she was fooled by theO

nanashinonoriko: maybe
i just dont know - maybe we can ask eli hunt
Mauro: that's a good idea... i'll write him an email later
nanashinonoriko: thank you!
I have to go for now
Mauro: ok
nanashinonoriko: nice chatting with you! Smile
Mauro: nice chatting with you too!

So Noriko suggests that we e-mail Eli.

This reminds me of when Markus was acting in a very un-Thumos way.

Now Ariadne is acting in a decidedly un-Dikaiosune way.

Isn't she though? I would have expected this from maybe the mythopoeia strength, but a Dikaisune?

I dunno- absorbing the blame when things go wrong is a leadership quality. . . spread the glory but absorb the blame.

Her leadership quality may be her downfall. So much stress, having so many people relying on you, when she was already stressed to begin with after waking up in the middle of a labyrinth with no memory, may have pushed her over the edge.

And vpisteve....
Win. Epic win.
