Yeah, the way it was worded the first time was a bit wonky. Good Luck!

Hooray! I got it! Yeah! My username is BotterscotchBear. I can't wait for the next part! And after I had solved all but the email addresses, then saw the pattern...
EDIT (next day):
By the way, I found out this about the registrants of goldenkeyquest.com: http://tinyurl.com/6zxy7z
EDIT #2:
Here's the info for GKEYHQ.com: http://tinyurl.com/6qd7jb
And an aerial view of his house...

EDIT #3:
By the way, at the end of the superman movie, there are only 48 stars on the flag...

The ranking page shows only 123 players for 2 days now. I've sent the e-mail 2 days ago, but still nothing. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to have names up?

it took over a week for mine to show up...but they always get added. they replied to a message I sent and said the names are added at regular intervals but never immediately.

Work backwards!?

the best way to solve the substitution is to work backwards
Chulo & Lisa,
Your hints were very good, but I must have been dense. I was working it out and was almost finished, when I said, "Well, DUH!!!" While it was SIMPLE, it wasn't readily apparent to me. It definitely followed the KISS principle. I got it last night, and I'm 131 on the list.

As soon as a certain (undisclosed) number of visitors is reached - whether they crack the code or not - the main site is triggered live. Spread the word. The game is in your hands.
They must be going by individual IP addresses so if we get everyone we know to visit the site and not even try and register we will launch the main site!?!?!?
On the Ranking page they updated the text from this previous post to read, "As soon as a certain (undisclosed) number of visitors is reached, the main site is triggered live. Visitors do not need to crack the code - simply visit this site."
I think they're really trying to make it obvious that they want us to invite as many people as we can to just log on and view the sight. I'm guessing they expected us to have it opened by now, or they wouldn't keep making it more and more obvious. In the beginning it didn't even say ANYTHING like this; it simply said "As soon as a certain (undisclosed) number of visitors is reached, the main site is triggered live." So they've updated that bit of text TWICE to make it apparent to us that the people don't even have to play the game, just boost the IP traffic.
So, for one get everyone you know to log on to the site, but also log on from as many different computers as you can. So like if you're walking through an apple store or something, just use one of the dislpay computers and log on. Hopefully we can get enough IP traffic to get this site opened up!

So over 130 people have cracked the code, meaning many more have visited. I am growing very tired of waiting for this. I may just forget about it. YAWN!

next step! The GoldenKeyQuest.com site has been updated.
Quote:
Discretionary Prize Funds (Rising) Total : Currently $100,000!
The Game Is Free
Series 1 Ends on 31 December 2010
This is Quarter no.2. of Series 1.
The $100k prize seems a little unbelievable.

The puzzle Like before, you must email your solution to a yet-known email address. The email address is with this 4-line puzzle :
Code:
The Spy Cartoon Is On The Right
Where Chimes Messiah Day and Night.
The Mechanism's Zero G
It Has 6 Legs On Level 3.
You must also solve this puzzle itself:
Code:
He Hid The Key For All To See
On Faces 1, 2, 4 And 3
A Font Of Knowledge To Impart
Within His Godly View Of Art.
His Forebears' King Preferred the IIII
So IV He Cast And Said No More
For Him The Royal Line Was Told
He Cast It Freely, Big And Bold.
The Key He Then Hid In The Water
And This Key Is The Key You're After
Plus The Letter That You'll See:
A Number, There On Level 3.

Thanks! Mork, thanks for posting the instructions more clearly! I'm wondering if this riddle really is a "Level 3"?

actually, I had the instructions a little goofy. Somehow I thought I had read it that the first 4 lines would reveal the email address. This is the actual instructions:
Code:
Email the web address that corresponds to the first 4 lines above with the remainder of the answer to playSPLAT gkeyq.com using your username in the 'from' field. Please leave the message blank. Incorrect submissions will not be notified and only one email attempt is allowed per username. You have one chance to get it right.
anyone else confused? so.. do we even need to solve anything but the first 4 lines?? We are to email playSPLAT gkeyq.com with our username as the subject and a blank message body.
Hopefully he/she updates the instructions to make some sense as with only 1 chance it'd be nice to know what he expects the email to look like.
