Don't mean to crush anyone's theories yet, but we still don't know if the picture on the blog is actually from Kimi. While that's the natural assumption, the post says "No contact has been received by Kimi since my last post.", which would generally be interpreted to mean that that photo was from someone else, or from someone unknown.

EDIT: Just found something, not sure if it's important. Adelle's webmail consists of two pages: left_main.php and right_main.php. Go to right_main and you find a section delineated by comments by Topher. Can't seem to reproduce it here, so you'll have to see it yourself.

Obviously Topher's not a good programmer, but other than that...

Well, there is one thing. This means we have "read_body1.php", which implies there might be more than one. Sure enough, there is, too. There's a read_body2.php.

But here's where it gets strange. Although there's a couple more HTML comments from Topher, the two files are exactly the same except for two details.

1. One is supposedly sent at 9:48 AM, the other 5:48 PM
2. One links to southlandlabs.com from the word "website", one does not.

Hard to say what this means. Except MAYBE that there's another website somewhere out there that Topher took down as well.

My bad. It came from adelleSPLATadelledewitt.com, but was sent via sendanonymousemail.net for whatever reason.

ETA the actual raw source of said email:

Thank you, Bix. Smile

I'm trying to come up with a plausible reason for emailing Adelle. Any ideas?

There's a message at the bottom of the login page that says "Please contact Brink in case of access problems" - following the example of adelle's email address, might Topher's email be TopherSPLATadellewit.com?

And... Questions...
-- Why would Adelle's personal website be the Active Login page?
-- Do Actives retain enough memory imprint to have their own logins? If yes, then for what purpose?

It makes me happy to see that there is possibly going to be Dollhouse-related content and information made available before the air-date (through this viral/ARG/thing?), because January is such an awful long time from now.

Yeah, going through the posts at Whedonesque I think people got a little jumbled around at some point. Sadly, I never got around to registering in the past, and it's only open on special occassions (but not Memorial Day Sad )

People keep trying to link Holomove to anything FOX just because someone on a FOX blog put tags on a post for all these shows.

Yeah, I think an overzealous and hungry for content fandom kinda ran with it. I got all excited when I heard, but I came here before any where else, where I learned the truth, heh.

Hey Nos, haven't been in a game with you for a while. Nice to be working with you again.

Still no reply from Sheridan. I'm thinking we should elect one or two people to communicate with Adelle, at least until we see how she reacts to communication. Since I've already tried to contact Sheridan I'll take myself out of the running for Adelle, so that someone else can get in on the interaction fun.

@Konamouse: I think it would be odd for Fox to post something cryptic about something they're completely uninvolved with -- that's why I suspect Holomove is at least tangentally related with something Fox is doing, possibly but by no means definitely Virtuality or Fringe.

However, I concede that there's no way to tell which show they're talking about for Holomove, or if it's related to Fox at all, since the Microsoft blogger involvement is still a rather substantial monkeywrench in that theory.

[INTERACTION] - Email from Sheridan Owen
Re: Kimi's letter

It's been so long since I've been an active ARG player, I've almost forgotten how to tag things. I had to go reference the posting guidelines, ha. Embarassed

I emailed Sheridan earlier today, asking about the YouTube video, etc.

My email to Sheridan:
Quote:

from: Darkstar October
to: Sheridan.OwenSPLATgmail.com
date: Mon, May 26, 2008 at 4:16 PM
subject: Kimi Lassek

Hello, Sheridan -

I came across your blog, Find Kimi, and I wanted to offer my help in finding your friend. I have a little bit of experience in solving mysteries, and I have some friends who have worked with me successfully on several cases. I had one question for you - what is your YouTube channel? I did some searching but couldn't find the video you mentioned that you were going to make in your March 30th entry. It might help if I could see the letter. What was "wrong" about it? Do you suspect that Kimi might be in danger? If so, why?

I hope you'll forgive this random contact from a complete internet stranger. I will understand if you don't trust me right away, but I'll be happy to help you in any way you think might be safe. Just let me know.

Hoping to hear from you,
-October

Hi October,

Unfortunately Youtube kept deleting the video I placed online, and won't tell me why.

I will type the letter up or get it scanned and place it online for you to see. She mentions something called The Dollhouse in the letter, which sounds insane, and talks about being out of contact for many years. She's my best friend, she never stays out of contact for more than a few days usually. I think she may be being forced into something.

Best
Sheridan.

great! a response!

so, now i'm even more convinced, that kimi "joined" voluntarily, cause she talked about "being out of contact for many years", and we know Actives to be active for 5 years.

my guess would be, that this is backdrop story for one active. Could be Alpha, could be Echo (a missing person report could explain, how Paul got the picture), could be Sierra, could be anyone.

interesting question raised by this, is of course: How DO the Actives disappear for 5 years, without every friend starting some missing person-action? chance is, every Active already is in a police databse from the beginning of their five year stint.

Joss Whedon is my hero. I knew he'd show up here someday. I'm totally in on this one and to all the Lost Ringers, I'll try to split my time equally.

Hey bix! Not surprising to see you 'round here... we have some friends in common relating to the writer's strike. Wink

From what I've heard of the show, it sounds like an excellent candidate for this sort of thing, so we'll see what route this takes.

SO glad something is happening.

OK so I'm definitely thinking that Find Kimi site is in game. Could Kimi be one of the Dolls? I also sent Sheridan Owen an email, telling him I had a group of friends looking forward to helping him find Kimi. I asked him what Kimi was doing in L.A. when she went missing and for more information about her.

As far as that email in the webmail account, it's from Topher Brink, who according to various sources on the web (including www.dollverse.com):

Quote:
Topher Brink is a genius programmer who is responsible for the tech side of the Dollhouse. He's busy wiping and reprogramming the Dolls. He says Huzzah. That's all you need to know.

I'm glad this got off the ground so quickly! Joss Whedon is my hero.

I'm thinking that Kimi might be Echo's "sister", who she is looking for in the sneak peak.
