Podcasting Mythopoeia

I'm planning on producing a podcast, and I want some feedback from the community. First I'm a bit unsure as to how much information to divulge. What do you guys think the content should be so as not to give too much away that Theo might use for his purposes? I'm also interested if anyone else already has a podcast out there (other than Eli Hunt's obviously). Let me know where I can find any of these casts.

Whoa, what a great idea! I don't know of any other podcasts that are available. As far as content... assume Theo(/Eli/Ariadne) are listening. If it's all in-character, Ariadne will probably give you a shout-out on her blog.

Good God the brilliance is overwhelming me. It's like Providence Radio all over again. No, there's no other podcasts, and yes, it should be in-game.

And although I've never done a podcast before I'm sure it can't be that difficult. I would love to do it with you!

Do we get to participate if mythopoeia is a secondary/tertiary strength? Wink

in-game podcast is brilliant! If it's a regular recording, cover news of the last week, don't mention uf, but discuss the things the 696 have been doing, the status of the community with labyrinths, all that... if you do it in quicktime I believe it is, you can even time pictures to accompany the podcast audio...
(actually, quite similar to Eli's Razz)

Whoa...yeah, can you imagine how helpful a series of those could be to a new player (assuming they're not the just-jump-in-where-we-are type)? That would be awesome...while the wiki is wonderful, some people need something with, well, a more personal touch Smile.

I'd love to help out too. I agree with dreamerblue--this would be a really great way to bring new players up to date! Yay. Smile

I guess my earlier reply didn't take. I'm totally down to have some roving reporters if you want to send me an audio file of breaking news or if you send me an email with some kind of update on how things are going around the worlds, I'd be more than happy to accommodate. If anyone knows of how to dampen a noisy computer tower while recording that would be helpful too. I'm currently working out some of the technical kinks, but once that's done I'll be podcasting as often as possible, what with semester projects all wrapping up within the next month for school.

But yeah, totally IG and hopefully we can get the word out to as big an audience as possible.

Anybody know how to create an RSS feed? I'd love some help on this. I have my first audio file uploaded to a file hosting site, but I can't for the life of me figure out where to go from there. If you either know how or would willing to take on that part of the task for me it'd be much appreciated.

i agree all ingame. but not just weekly, if there is somthing important it should be relased as soon as posible.

i mean it should give constant updates on the mission stats because i spent a few hours on a compleated mission because the blog was not updated (still isnt).

i would love to help with editing and distribtion, but unfortunetly i dont have any audio recording equipment .

A player-run, in-game podcast is a great idea. Smile
I would enjoy listening to it more if you didn't worry about Theo too much.

My preference would be for a quality fortnightly podcast covering the latest missions, artifact recovery stories, labyrinth events, etc. I think that breaking news is best in text format on the forums.

Great Idea.

I think there's a lot of information that could be transmitted in a podcast.

A cursory google search for free podcast hosting turns up:

www.podbean.com
www.mypodcast.com
www.wildvoice.com

Can any web people out there comment on viability of doing this on the free? Or should paid hosting really be recommended?
