Found something new and interesting.

Apparently, someone with the name "alarmtheendisnear" created a Youtube account on July 2nd, 2008. The userpage includes a video of the website that we now know and love, showing the clocks ticking and then spinning down, and then fading. Then it turns to a jumbled set of letters, which morph into the URL.

Not sure if it's official, but I have suspicions it is.

The userpage itself has an image and a quote, I think it's from Poe.

"And darkness and decay and the red death held illimitable dominion over all." The words circle a crying (bleeding?) mask, and it looks very sinister overall. Thoughts?

EDIT: Looking at the image, I've noticed something about the image: It's a clock. The hands point to 11:59.

Thanks belatedly to everyone who welcomed me! ^.^;

Anyways, morning update before I pedal off to work.

It seems the page has changed overnight. Instead of the red death background image, the new background is the "The End Is Near" logo. I have the original one saved, just in case.

Also, it seems one of the subscribers to alarmtheendisnear's channel is a chap named A2L0A1R2M. Joined May 20th. His profile is empty, and the only thing he's subscribed to is the video on alarmtheendisnear's channel.

Both alarmtheendisnear and A2L0A1R2M were online within an hour of eachother. My guess is they're either the same, or a the very least A2L0A1R2M is part of it.

As to what this whole 2012 thing may be about, I figured I'd try checking out upcoming movies...

...yuck! Seems like every production company is finding their way to cash in on the 2012 buzz.
