haha good job. i watched the first season non-stop once and was ready to shoot myself three or four episodes from the end. its a very tiring experience, i wouldn't suggest it unless you were on a really long road trip (i wasn't but i learned from my mistake)

Though a caveat to that is that season 1- even if you've seen it already- is best to be avoided on long plane trips... particularly when the real-life turbulence kicks in and you hear the pilots command all of the passengers and crew to take their seats immediately and fasten their seatbelts! All I can say is thank God for Xanax! lol

At least we know there's actually something going on behind the scenes of the OGR site. I notice that if you put in your email address a second time, it pops up a notice saying that address has already been stored.

OGR Engineers
This has to be something

Ok... so i know i am a newbie to this site, but i have been thinkin about the OGR video and the code that was found in the list of occupations. As someone already pointed out, "Engineers" is printed TWICE. If you look at the letters that form the code after Dharma Initiative, there is exactly the same number of letters as if you spell out "Engineers" TWICE:

E A B E J N C H D B E B M P Z P P M
E N G I N E E R S E N G I N E E R S

At first i thought that was a wierd coincidence, but then I watched the video again and the is a frame with... wouldnt you know... 2 ENGINEERS.

I mean they could be architects or whatever, but i just felt that the two engineers appearing in 3 different ways was more than a coincidence. What do you guys think?

wow i'm surprised nobody has come up with that yet. lol.

is there any way to use that as a key to a cipher? there are a ton of repeated letters and they aren't consistent with their counterparts i'm gonna fanagle with them for a little bit see if i can get them to match up.

edit my theory has been busted by paying a little more attention ot the letters. 6 e's and at most 3 of anything else definitely not a letter substitution.

Dang! I assigned number values to the letters in each string and added them together (i.e. E(5) + E(5) = J(10) ). I got all excited because the first four letters were "JOIN" (like in recruitment), but then it started becoming jibberish. But maybe there's else something there? Or not and it's just a happy coincidence? Likely the latter...

Explore the Possibilities also has the same number of letters... if the letters are paired, could be playfair...

So LOST episodes to be borrowed and watched. Season 4 just ended right? so I have a lot to watch i guess lol but i have a month and a half before this ARG truly kicks off

I've watched the first 3 seasons over the past 2 weeks. It's a lot of Lost, but the fact that it hasn't bored me (seeing so much of it) is a pretty good sign. Depending on work or school, I'm sure you could get caught up in time.

I got a bit burned out near the end of the first season, but the mystery of the hatch brought me back.

I really dont think that its a coincidence... I think that having engineers twice in the list of jobs on the video is too big for them to have done on accident... i cant figure it out quite yet, but i am going to keep trying for sure...

I don't want to try to end conversation - any talk is good talk in the world of puzzles - but at this point, I'm seriously going to advise anyone from investing serious time into the "puzzles" until Comic-Con/anything happens. I'm pretty sure if there was something to solve, it would have been made clearer by now.

I was about to make a similar comment. I think the whole point of the commercial was to get our attention...and 19-20 pages worth of thread kinda shows that it did. Seeing the Dharma and Engineers there is, more or less, to give us an idea the territory this is going in.

Then again, if someone does find something...more power to them. I'm excited, and hopefully it'll be more like the Rachel Blake experience then the find815 game. Then again, it could be no more then a Comicon event a la the Joker Scavenger Hunt last year.

Knowing that monster.com was heavily involved with TLE, (completely missed find815 somehow) I checked the site for engineer+octagon listings and came up blank. I find it hard to believe they would give us a trailhead and then keep us waiting for a full month.

Fake edit: I also thought of the possibility of the Dharma Initiative and the string of letters from the comercial might be a one time pad with Dharma Initiative as the key. Unfortunately my work schedule has kept me from pursuing it. Just a shot.

edit edit: Noticed there are quite a few people that are new to this. For those not familiar with cryptography this site has a lot of helpful tools. And for those who want to get a little more involved with cryptology, I highly recommend downloading CrypTool. Hope this helps.

I'm thinking that a couple months' wait for this to begin isn't outrageous. If this is really being envisioned as season 4.5, the PMs have a lot of time to fill. Letting the buzz spread for a couple months before kicking it off at comic-con seems pretty reasonable.

Incidentally, I wonder if we can hope for a higher quality plot-line this time around, since the writer's strike ensured payment for writers' online content.

I'm not sure that's relevant, as gameplay isn't a program in the way that a television show or movie is. As near as I can recall (and I'm re-skimming the agreement again now), the online media stuff that resulted from the strike is about more or less traditional types of programs, it's just that they exist online. (Think so-called webisodes or mobisodes.) Most of the agreement as per online media refers, for example, to "minutes" of programming -- not something one could calculate when it comes to gameplay.

I looked it up when the sites first came into existence, I don't believe the host was the same for the domains as TLE 1, that was also how i found a number of the other domain names that also linked to the same site. They are up on the lostpedia.com site. Also (http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/web-sites-on-web-server/) Just type in octagonglobalrecruiting.com. I'm fairly certain we are going to be waiting for comic-con for this one to start. But it definitely looks promising to be the true TLE 2 and hopefully run by the same group that ran the first one, not like find815.

edit: its the CW.com sorry again me and my canadianness - i just watch it on space (like your sci-fi channel)
