I got a reply as well. here's what mine says since it's different.......

Octagon Global Recruiting, on behalf of the Dharma Initiative, would like to thank you for registering your expression of interest in our latest volunteer recruitment drive.

We will be launching in San Diego on July 24th at Comic-Con International offering select registrants the opportunity to take an exciting aptitude test that will give applicants the chance to demonstrate their unique talents.

The Dharma Initiative hopes you will be able to join us to find out more about their ground-breaking new research project. We will contact you closer to the date with more information.

For those not able to join us in San Diego, Dharma's full recruitment program will be made available online to registered recruits after July 27th.

In the meantime, the Dharma Initiative urges you to spread the word. Invite your colleagues to join the team at www.octagonglobalrecruiting.com and take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Awesome, I just got that email too! Glad to hear that those of us who can't make it to Comic Con are going to be able to participate as well, even though that's still over a month away.

Good catch on noticing Hans. What exactly did you write to him?

In the source code there is following line:
<meta>

I tried http://www.octagonglobalrecruiting.com/site/emails/0332.html but only got a 404.

(Our mail was 0618.html so I think that it's todays date)

This appears to refer to a comic book that appeared on Lost - one site has scanned the entire story.

Specifically, "Issue 40, cover dated April 1956 with the cover teaser "What was the secret of the mysterious 'HIDDEN LAND!'", was one of Richard's items presented to John Locke as a test." The fact that it shows up in the meta tags of another recruiting organization, for us, is key, I'd think. (Though, naturally, it could just be boringly related to Comic-Con, being a comic.)

Just got the email, and sent an email to Hans asking him what his connection to Octagon is (got the auto-reply) - as a Brit I'm fairly relieved that this isn't exclusive to Comic-Con!

Mass mailings, depending on the number of recipients (and based on the fact that this is LOST, and all, I imagine there are a lot) usually get sent out over the course of a few hours, sometimes longer. Also, mass mailings occasionally have the nasty habit of getting flagged as spam, even if they're not. So give it a few more hours, and be sure to double-check your spambox.

This is true - I was quietly raging for about an hour after reading the Imisscharlie's post, then it appeared in my inbox and I raged no more.
